Makeup and special effects man David Ayers got a full page spread in -- of all places -- the WEEKLY WORLD NEWS back on January 6, 1981. Ayers earned a name for himself in the effects business by working on such films as TOURIST TRAP, THE HILLS HAVE EYES, EMPIRE OF THE ANTS, and CLOSE ENCOUNTERS WITH THE THIRD KIND. Just goes to show ya' that the WWN wasn't just about Bigfoot and Bat Boy.
