ARE YOU READY FOR DOOMSDAY? (PART 2)
Here are a couple more pages from yesterday's post on nukes and why it's a great idea to avoid them. When you look at statistics like these, the idea of "mutual destruction" that initiated the creation of so many seems even more insane.
A bit of of a personal plug here, but I thought I'd share my experience with "prepper" food. Mountain House started out as compact, freeze-dried, just-add-hot-water meals that could be easily taken on camping and backpacking trips. Recently, though, the brand has become a major supplier for preppers and other folks who want to have a storable food resource that doesn't take up a lot of room and that lasts for a while. Mountain House packaged foods are guaranteed for 25 - that's twenty-five years!
Why am I plugging this brand in particular? Because I've tried a few others and Mountain House -- in my opinion -- beats them all. It's makes for not a pretty good meal, and it contains all the calories for those days that you might be hunkered down in your fallout shelter.
Oh, and don't bother using the order blank from the image. While maybe not as fast as toilet paper and pasta, Mountain House's entire warehouse was sold out as a result of reaction to the COVID-19 scare. Check their website for the few items that have currently come back into stock.

ARE YOUR READY FOR DOOMSDAY?
This post is for readers who interpret the phrase "the big one" for something other than an earthquake. Use this article from the AMERICAN SURVIVAL GUIDE "DOOMSDAY" issue as your primer for "all things atomic". It provides a lot better information than the usual kiss your you-know-what goodbye platitudes issued by fatalists. Now, get in your back yard and start digging!
