STRANGE TALES lasted for 7 issues. Clayton Magazines went bankrupt in 1933. The ASTOUNDING STORIES title was sold to Street & Smith where it became abbreviated to ASTOUNDING. They also planned to continue publishing STRANGE TALES, but never did. In 2003, Wildside Press revived ST, printed 3 new issues and some reprints.

The cover art for all the issues of STRANGE TALES was done by Hans Wessolowski. Credited as H.W. Wesso on the title page, his work is signed simply, "Wesso". Hans Waldemar Wessolowski (August 19, 1893 – New York City 1947) was born in Germany and came to the U.S. in 1914.
His work -- both covers and interiors -- appeared in many pulp titles including AMAZING STORIES, CLUES, and WIDE WORLD ADVENTURES. The cover for this issue of ST is in watercolor.
