"I wrote a piece called ‘To Go Beyond’, and it appealed to me because we wrote the middle section in a very classical feel. And it was, um, very different to the music we were writing for The Celts. And we combined the two sounds together, and the first section is a very slow, sad moving piece, and then it goes into a very classical piece which is played on violin. And it was used to illustrate the artwork of the Celts."

"Only Time" is a song by Irish musician Enya. It was released on 6 November 2000 as the lead single from her fifth studio album, A Day Without Rain (2000). The song reached number one in Canada, Germany, Poland and Switzerland, number two in Austria, and became Enya's only top-10 single as a solo artist in the United States, peaking at number 10 on the Billboard Hot 100. It became an anthem for the victims of the September 11th attacks, with Enya donating to a fund for the victims' families."

"The Song was inspired by the various legends from classical mythology given to flowers. The "tears from Persia" are the Persian Iris. They are the tears of the Mourning Iris taken from the legend of Persephone, the daughter of Demeter, the Goddess of the Corn. Persephone was abducted by Hades, and was made to spend six months of each year in the underworld with him (hence winter) and the other six months on earth (hence summer)."

"It has been told that the path to the tea-house was one of a copse of summer trees, a wave of the sea, the pale evening moon. The trees, the sea, the moon evoked old dreams and the tea-house represented an oasis where the traveller could find peace. On entering through the low door, one could hear the song of water echo the distant sea or the sound of the rain in a bamboo forest. The tea-house was a place of repose and one in which the harmony of nature pervaded."

“On Your Shore,” which appears as the third song (of 11) on WATERMARK, and was never officially released as a single, has been a favorite of mine for a long time. I don’t know if my love for this song can be attributed to having been born near the ocean in Bar Harbor, Maine, having the ocean in my blood, whenever I’m visiting the ocean with Maryhope, or because it was featured in one of my all-time favorite movies and on its soundtrack (1991’s L.A. STORY with Steve Martin, who also wrote the brilliant screenplay)."

Enya - orinoco flow, 1988

"In a 2015 interview with The Irish Times, Enya said: “Longevity is all any artist dreams of”, rather than to dwell on how her songs are remembered. She credits "Orinoco Flow" for some of her cross-generational appeal, saying: "people who used to like Orinoco Flow are now playing my music to their children". In another interview, when asked whether people bring up "Orinoco Flow", she responded: "people say 'sail away' to me or whistle bits of it back to me. I think it’s wonderful—I never tire of it."
