From RayR: Chamber of Challenge - Graveyard Beach (62 points)

Sorry folks but I've kinda ignored the second word Beach and gone with the first word, Graveyard.

Graveyard Beach: Spooky, ghostly, undead and undying things arrive, or resurrect, here under

Challenge Mountain. Bonus points if combined with a watery or nautical theme.

Its been an interesting Challenge for me this time around, I seem to have got the terrain bug?

Debris of War make a fantastic Graveyard set, but I wanted mine to be more rustic with a countryside look, so I bought their gravestones and different walls.

My original plan was to make a permanent model but after having a chat with Postie, I changed my mind and made it modular otherwise I think I think it would get broken. This way I can store it more easily.

The Debris of War gravestones were rather elaborate affairs only for the upper class. I wanted some plain ordinary worn out looking ones, so I bought some MDF ones from Ebay. I painted them with very watered down polyfiller to give them a stone look. I even left some unbased  to lean against the walls.

This dashing looking fellow was going to be a Ghoul/Zombie in my Shrine post, but I changed my mind and painted up the Col Bill's Ghosts. So he's moved into the Graveyard as an extra figure.
I'm not sure of the manufacturer as he and some other chums were gifted to me by me ol pal Fran, before he buggered off back to Ireland. He's part of a collection climbing out of toxic waste barrels!!

The Gravedigger is a Foundry figure from their SYW Prussian  labourers, sorry I can't find the pack on their site? The wheelbarrow and coffin are from Black Tree Design here

Now here's the really difficult bit.....the points!!
The base boards are 16 x 16 inches x 0.5 inch
The walling measure 4 x 14 inch x 1 inch high
There are 27 based Gravestones with another 5 unbased.
1 x 25mm figure
1/2 x 25mm figure
1 x coffin
1 x wheelbarrow

If the base walling and Gravestones are piled up the should make a rough box of 16 x 8 x 2.5
making a total of 1.5 boxes. giving me 30 points
1 x 25mm figure - 5 points
1/2 x 25mm figure - 3 points
1 x coffin - 2 points
1 x wheelbarrow - 2 points
Challenge Bonus - 20 points

Making a total of 62 points I think?

Well, at least you did get an undead revenant in to fit the theme. Will we be seeing these in a future game report?
Amazingly, your maths is correct. Although I am surprised that you didn't try to claim the ghoul is female and qualifies for "Sarah's Choice"...

From DrQ: Myrmourn Banshees at Graveyard Beach (40 points)

I painted up the rest of my Nighthaunt from the Storm Strike starter box for the Graveyard Beach. I would have included more picks, but most of them were rubbish—totally washed out and hard to see the models. This is the best that my limited photoshop skills could pull off.

Not much to say on these ladies. I tried to keep to the same paints as the Nighthaunt Glaivewraith Stalkers from the Tomb area earlier. Most of the models are painted using Citadel Technicals: Hexwraith Flame for the body with Nighthaunt Gloom for their bodices and weapons (and a few other miscellaneous colours to help round out the effects). I decided not to paint the roses or skulls in separate colours like I did on the Glaivewraiths, but rather to extent the eerily glow to the entire base. I think it works better, but won't know until I get them in a real battle.

As far as points: the four 28mm models come to 20 points with another 20 points for the challenge area for a total of 40. Oh, and there's a total of six skulls lurking on those bases as well.

AdamC: Gravyard Beach the Ghost ship Banshee (35 points)

For years I have have seen people do great work with Grayscale but have never tried it myself.  After trying it once(sort of) this challenge I decided I would try it again. Black Seas Box sets give you way too many brigs for normal use but that does give me a chance to be creative so I decided to do one a a Ghost ship in greyscale.  The ghost ship naturally isn't quite in fitting with the historically themed game of Black Seas but they have sea monsters so why not.
Naturally I couldn't resits giving my ghost ship a pirate scull and bones flag. It just had to be done, obviously, but please don't call her the Black Pearl. I think I shall christen her the Banshee in honor of my Irish ancestors.
I decided to use the battle damaged sails I got as part of a painting contest prize over the summer. They seem to fit the look I think as going for.
I am very pleased with how this my second effort at Greyscale came out hopefully others will like it as well. Brigs are worth 10 points and maybe an additional 3 for rigging and perhaps another 2 for sails and the flag. The room should add another 20 so 35 points in total. Mention was made the entries fitting the nautical theme might gain some additional bonus but I won't suggested how much extra that should be.
