KentG - Terrian feudal Japanese buildings for those that asked to see the buildings all together (pts0)

Well here we are at the end I didn’t manage to complete
The last batch of minis, had a lot of requests to see all the Terrain for
The feudal Japanese that I completed, I’ve added in the walls gate hose and temple house
Which I had already. I only had one print left to complete but had to wait so long for
A missing part it didnt get completed

For someone who doesn’t do a lot of terrain this year I actually
Did quite a bit and really enjoyed it

Mini Samurai project at least has a good start even though I have about 200
More figures to paint before starting the Koreans

Thank you to everyone who entered their work Curt and all the minions
What an awesome year it has been really enjoyed it once again
So no points here just a few pics. I’ll do my group shot later

-----------------------

What a great post Kent!!  Your terrain was certainly a highlight for me over the event, and I am sure it was for others as well.  Excellent work and something for all of us to strive for.
Thank you for the great group shots.

From KentG: Samurai Lord and 28mm Medieval slingers (75pts)

First up another command figure Fireforge resin miniature
Another nice figure

All the slingers are 3D prints, broke one this morning just picking it up
I know a lot of people like this stuff but it’s really not me, hope they get to the
 customer in one piece

For points  this week
13 foot @5pts each
1 mounted @ 10pts

Total 75pts

From Millsy:

Another lovely effort with the brush mate. Those smooth blends and muted tones on the slingers are just wonderful. It makes their samurai offside pop even more than he might otherwise with the saturated red.

I've found the likelihood of a break with 3D prints is very unpredictable and often down to the resin and how much they were cured. Some are just flexible enough, others feel flimsy from the get go. If a customer sent you them that's on them as I know how fanatical you are about safe packing.

Good stuff Kent. 75 more points for your tally.

Cheers,
Millsy

From KentG: Temple guards and command figures (80pts)

This week could be my last as life is about to get very busy
Might get something else up but if not I’ve had a great time
It’s been a absolute joy to be part of the challenge, an so much fun
To paint my own figures except a few

Decided to do a few temple guard and command figures
The temple guards are from Grey for now games

These guys are resin and from fireforge games
Resin is never my favourite but turned out pretty good I think

Points

Foot 12 x 5pts = 60pts
Cavalry 2 x 10pts = 20 pts
Total = 80pts

From Millsy:

In a rush with real life so I don't have the time to say something pertinent I'm afraid! Nice work mate, especially the mounted dudes.

Cheers,
Millsy

From KentG: 15mm Old Glory 1812 American Wars (144 pts)

This weeks submission is a little different
It's  a commission unbased which means of course less points
I was hoping not to be doing any commission work over
the challenge but couldn't hold off any longer

They are American infantry from 1812

there are 144 figures in this first lot and tonight I will be starting another 144
figures before i do the artillery and a few other minis, I don't do a lot of 15mm any more
but it is where I began my painting for other people.

The figures travel to the other side of the world so the customer
has asked for them to be unbased

well there we have it 144 figures, the lace and piping took me way longer
than it should but they are done

points
144 x 15mm foot = 144 points (half points for unbased miniatures)

From Millsy:

I was wondering if we'd see these this week after the discussion on uniforms, colours, etc.

You've done a cracking job I have to say, especially given you painted so many of them in one batch. I know painting in bulk is your schtick but even so that's a lot of stuff. I hope the second batch is not too painful mate!

At "half price" for unbased minis this still nets you a tidy 144 points for your tally.

Cheers,
Millsy

KentG for my Samurai wars project (40 pts)

This week has been an extremely busy week
So just the one building,  I think this is the biggest one yet, the last
One is smaller and hopefully the last bits of it will arrive Monday
Size is 260 long 200 wide 160 high

Thanks Byron for your work with the Terrian , not an easy task

--------------------

Hello again Kent for sharing some great looking terrain!  This one is massive at pretty much 2 of the old 6" cubes and full of detail!  I really don't know how you work through all of the detail on these filament prints as it would drive me nuts, but they certainly look great all painted up, and once again all the little extra basing pieces really make it come alive.

I am going to go with 40 points for this one due to the size and complexity to paint all those details on it.

KentG - Feudal Japan Terrain (75 pts)

Still working away on my 3D printed buildings, to go with my
Japanese project, still having lots of fun. They look a little to cute
But oh well, can’t wait to set them all out

This first building is the biggest so far and it’s one of the best
The detail is very cool
Size 240 wide 230 long 165 high

Once again I painted the bottom of the water bowl
And filled it with glue which works perfectly as water.

This is the smallest so far but very cool print.

I added a little extra vegetation which adds some colour
Brings it to life
140 wide 110 long 120 high

This next one’s a little slap stick, two misprints from two buildings.
I chopped the roof in half built a balsa wood centre
Not the best but still gives me another building

Then finally a bridge which is a little small but will add the look
Of the table
180 wide 190 long 95 high

Bridge 150 wide 50 long 100 high

The dimensions of each model is under each picture of it.

--------------------

Wow Kent!  Even more awesome looking terrain, and more to get jealous over for most of us!  All of these are great pieces of terrain, that probably took WAY WAY WAY too much time!  There area. lot of great things to look at here and once again I love all the extra little details you are putting onto them, like the extra plants and flowers.  Great work, and you really need to post up some pictures of all of them together at the end showing us what your table looks like!

As for points, still not 100% sure how to deal with all of these, as there is a ton of detail, but being filament prints I can see that a lot just has to be done as simply as possible so that you don't see all the print lines and faults with them.  That said I am going to keep with much the same as the previous posts, but I know I might very well be under rewarding them based on complexity, but am trying to keep it as even as I can to everyone.

Therefore, the new biggest building I am going to award 35 points for, 10 points for the new smallest and simplest on, 20 for the misprinted one (that looks great with the fix), and 10 points for the little covered bridge for a total of 75 points.  Amazing work here Kent!  Keep up the great work!

From KentG: 28mm Ronan (5 pts)

This week is just a wee post, Sadler I have had to start a large commission
which means I have to stop painting my own,
The figure below is the last in a footsore Ronan set
I decided to give this set away, so it is currently flying
To the other side of the world.

Here we have the complete set of figures

Points
1 x28mm foot 5pts

From Millsy:

Kent! Is everything OK at home? Just one miniature from someone so prolific is so much of a departure from business as usual as to cause concern!

Jokes aside, this right up to your usual standard. Great colour choices, sweet blends and a very expressive face. Lovely work mate.

Cheers,
Millsy
