From FranL: The colour that broke the sci-fi back (288 points)

.......and thanks for everything....everybody!

I wanted a 15mm chaos force and still had a bag of chaos looking figures but then chose the chaotic red from the army painter range and so it began to go downhill......

The challenge has been great for productivity, clearing the lead mountain, discovering methylated spirits are better than dettol, Ray is still a git and I started to like painting again.....

Things got very red.........
....I hate chaotic red!

These figures from GZG are my chaos elite but upon receiving them I suddenly thought that they were a cross between a ladybird and a deer that has been violated by kermit the frog......
........things went downhill from there!

I see methylated spirits in there future.....possibly?

So sci-fi has come to a halt and now maybe a journey in to 15mm fantasy, a little sword and shield shenanigans....

Thank you to everybody especially Curt, loved it........

92 15mm figures: 184 points
13 15mm vehicles: 104 points

288 points I believe?

________________________

Fran, your 'Kermit the Defiler' imagery is now seared into my consciousness. Okay, where is Dave's patented Mind Bleach when you need it. Yes, these chaps do look rather red and rather mean, but I suppose that the entire point with them being elite chaos troops. Ergo, they are brilliant! I love the Wheelie, Yoga-Ball vehicles and that not-Land Raider is the bizz. Well done Mr. Lee.

Mate, it was wonderful having you back with us and am delighted that the Challenge helped spark the hobby mojo within you (In the top ten buddy, wow!). Keep up the madness and let's get together next autumn for another bash, eh?

- Curt

From FranL: Hodge Podge 1 (203 points)........

Got a little mixture going on........

15mm CP Models Mummies......

28mm Legion Rebel Fleet Troopers

15mm Sci-Fi Russians....

15mm Sci-Fi Russian Heavy Mech.....

Another 15mm "Devils Rejects" Gargo Sled.....

15mm "Devils Rejects" Bots.......

15mm CP Models Cultists.........

28mm figures x 7= 35 points
15mm vehicles x 2= 16 points
15mm figures x 76= 152 points

203 points

I think that's right.......

TamsinP:

Mummies! Cannon fodder! Space Russkis! Mechs! Sleds! Bots! Cultists! That really is a hodge podge Fran. Hmmm "Hodge Podge 1" - that suggests that there might be more "Hodge Podge" posts to come over the next few hours...

With all these large posts you are dropping on the last day one might tentatively suggest you have been stuffing sandbags. I blame that feckin' fecker Ray - he's clearly infected you!

That is indeed another 203 points

From FranL: Best Weapons Dealer in the Galaxy (250 points )......

....his product, his protection!

Meet Mr.X the best arms dealer, bot pusher, planet cleansing, bio weapons aficionado in the galaxy, you want it he sells it, buy one get one free, cash only.......

A mixture of manufactures and scales again on the catalogue, Ion Age, Khurasan, GZG, CP Models, FATC.....

Not only his product but his his protection and staff, the galaxy is a dangerous place.......

The man himself in his protective armour.........

Light mechs/walkers.........

28mm gun drones......

101 15mm figures: 202 points
2 15mm mechs: 16 points
4 28mm Gun Drones: 32 points

TamsinP:

Another stonking 15mm SciFi entry from Fran. How many armies is that so far in this Challenge? Quite a few - if they are all fighting each other, there won't be a universe left for them to fight over!

I'm going to score the mechs and gun drones as 15mm vehicles. I think that's fair.

From FranL - 15mm Legion of Ood and 28mm Donnybrook Unit! (639 points)

My Legion of Ood (The Blue Boys) roams the galaxy preaching the writings of Ood and if you don't like the preaching of Ood then they knock the galactic faeces out of you.......

This is a hodge podge of scales, manufactures and technically periods, the majority is GZG, the vehicles are from Armies Armies now The Scene, Khurasan and Heavy Mechs which used to be WH40K Space Marine Dreadnoughts ( I have re-purposed quite a few 28mm GW models for 15mm)....

There is even a 20mm kloth from CP Models fantasy range posing as a religious advisor/leader.......

.....casualties by cutting the bases of some figures and laying them flat!

I must admit the bikes were my favourite..........

The second part is this 28mm unit from Warfare Miniatures for Donnybrook, they will be based by their owner Ray, an absolute arseache to paint but needs must..........

28mm figures (34 infantry, 1 cavalry): 180-25%= 135pts
28mm vehicle/Dreadnought x 3: 60pts
15mm
18 vehicles (including the bikes): 120pts (15 vehicles are 120 points and I'll score the bikes as cavalry for an additional 12 points - Lee)
14 crew-served weapons (I am counting the equipment/ammo handcarts as crew-served weapon but could be wrong): 56pts
128 figures: 256pts

I'd like to thank Bill Bailey for the word and religion of Ood!

Oh my brain...counting this lot gave me an actual headache! All I can say is you have been a very productive boy. I'm guessing it's the slow season in the mud farming business? Time on your hands equals a head-splitting points bomb?!? Nicely done sir....now I'm off to find some Paracetamol.

From FranL: 15mm Weyland Yutani Corporation.........(333 points)

..........making the galaxy human!

This is my terraforming company project "Weyland Yutani", this is the human face of the company promoting and making things better across the galaxy for mankind.....at a small price!

These are a mixture of many companies especially Tesco and Smyths toy store but there are a host of the usual suspects.......

Tesco for the price of one 15mm vehicle from a sci-fi company .....

Smyths toys and just 6 euros, need to get more......

Brigade Models with stowage....

GZG exploration vehicles.......

Construction Heavy Mechs.......

The crew......

Robots........

Casual workers.....

Workers in vacc-suits.......

Military Yutani protector bots.....

Military Yutani vehicle.....

Military Yutani peacemakers.....

These are a 28mm addition to my "Devils Rejects" forces, they are GW terminators and are being used as light mechs.......

15 15mm vehicles: 120 pts
93 15mm figures: 186 pts
5 28mm figures: 25 pts

331 points I believe Lee and early too as requested, any bonus points?

Excellent work mate. I love the fact you have used shop bought vehicles and found a use for them. It just goes to show what can be found on the highstreet instead of in the games shop. Years ago I realised the only way to survive being dragged around the shops by the wife was to turn every trip into a hunt for unusual hobby related materials. It forced me to think 'outside the box' (horrible phrase) and it means that even on the most mundane shopping trip I don't come home empty handed. I think a couple of bonus points for ingenuity are definately heading your way.

From FranL: 15mm Mercenary Brigade (340 points)

..........for all your countries/planets takeover or protection needs!

The infamous "Devils Rejects" mercenary brigade, used to be known as Posties Rejects but a rather nasty coup in 2092 resulted in a name change!

The vehicles are mainly Brigade Models with a Khurasan flyer, the figures are GZG (part of the old NAC range, a little dated but I liked the medics and casualty figures plus the vehicle riders and gunners!!!!!)

Rank and file........

Casualties and medics......

Heavy weapons.....

Special forces.......

My gunners for all the mini guns but they turned out to be giants and did not fit, the perils of using two different companies......

14 vehicles: 112pts
6 crew served weapons: 24pts
102 Figures (83 plus 9 riders, 7 gunners, 2 flyer door gunners and 1 tank commander): 204pts
Total: 340 points?

Merc's packing some big weaponry, what's not to like. Pity about the size difference between manufacturers but these days I guess its almost inevitable. Dreaded scale creep strikes again! Another big entry Fran, good to see you painting again. Better store all this lead in a solid building, we wouldn't want your van sinking into the mud-farm under the weight of all this lead!
