From SteveM: Tireless, remoreless warriors (50 points)

I picked up the this box of Deathrattle Skeleton Warriors a couple years ago as I had not painted a skeleton unit before and these looked pretty cool to try out. In looking at the army they go with, the Soulblight Gravelords army, there are some other miniatures that I might want to paint.

The box art shows the standard with a skull iconography painted on, but I decided to not go that route. Maybe I will paint on something like the crescent and sword from the later version AOS codex example in the future.

Something to keep in mind if assembling these. make sure to weight down the base as a few of them are top heavy.

Genre: Fantasy, Warhammer Age of Sigmar

Mfg: Games Workshop

Material: plastic

Scale: 28mm

Points:

10 miniatures * 5 pts = 50 pts

Total: 50 pts

Sylvain: A skeleton always seem like an easy figure to paint, but your brushwork on these miniatures really makes them shine (figuratively). The worn out leather, the rotten pieces of wood, the rusty metal parts, the torn clothes, all these little details you added makes me think: "Yep, I want my soldiers ripped apart by these nicely painted skellies!" Great job!

SteveM: Rock and Stone (58 points)

The following miniatures are from the Deep Rock Galactic board game based on the video game and have been stuck in limbo on the table since they were primed months ago. These were being painted for someone who played the video game so they needed to be semi-accurate. When looking for reference images online there are many variations and shades for each of the characters which aided delays. It seems the cartoon slant for the game makes all kinds of lighting possible in the drawings and artwork. The fandom wiki assisted with some parts but I ended up taking some liberty with some areas.

The following are the core player characters for the game with their supply pod and sentry gun. The main colors for the characters are yellow, green, red and blue and then orange and green for the two game accessories. For the ground work moon rock colored regolith seemed appropriate as they are deep space mining dwarves.

4 miniatures * 7 pts = 28 pts

2 miniatures * 5 pts (counting pod and sentry as 28mm)= 10 pts

First Circle: Limbo entry = 20pts

Total: 58 points

Sylvain: The primary colors you use on these miniatures suggest that they are board game pieces. Nonetheless, just like cartoon characters, your figurines are brightly colorful and very characterful with their oversize weapons. I'm sure you will enjoy using them. Nice job!

From SteveM: 15mm TY Soviets and FoW British (296 points)

Two eras of tanks today. Enjoy.

Team Yankee Soviets

The Team Yankee Soviets were part of a group of three types of tanks that I got second hand when the challenge started. Two of the tanks types are in this post. I suppose they were someone else's Limbo pile so I won't count it as mine. These had been assembled and primed but some needed minor repair work.  A few of the turret mounted machine guns will remain broken for now and I will leave that to a future mini project.

A future challenge post might contain the third group that are plain T-64. There was one turret that was glued and I am in the process of fixing it.

First up today is a group of cold war era Soviet T-72. Painted in "green", with some oil paint weathering.

Soviet T-64BV:

The second group is of cold war era T-64BV. Painted in "green", with some oil paint weathering.

Flames of War British

These were next in the queue to paint. They might have been part of a boxed set that contained infantry but if so, they won't be painted any time soon as some other cool projects are in the queue. There is an assortment of Cromwell, Sherman, Stuart, Tank Destroyer, and Churchill flamethrowers.

Again painted in "green". There is some ghosting on a few of the decals due to not enough gloss varnish prior to putting them on as there was too much water mixed in.

Sylvain: Your tanks look gorgeous. Even though they are plain green, you were able to pick out the details and make them look that they were on the battlefield a few moments ago. I like how you painted the rubber parts of the tracks on your Sheman Firefly. This kind of attention to details really increases the realism of your paint job. This is your first entry of the Challenge and you did it with a bang, giving us a point bomb! 296 points for you!

From SteveM: 15mm ww2 British Italy infantry (66 Points)

This post is for a group of 15mm ww2 British in Italy infantry rifle platoon. There are three squads and  based for the Flames of War rule set. These figures are from the BR762 blister pack. I like the metal infantry figures from v3 over the plastic v4 figures and wish Battlefront would bring back all metal figures as special order at least.

This is a start for a larger British force.
