Friday KentG 28mm Barons was French mounted (125pts )

This week I’m still doing barons wars minis all from Wargames Atlantic,
Some of my most favourite minis to paint at the moment,
I was going to do some easy generic knights but then got a little
Carried away spending 8-10 hours each on two of the figures which are the first
two below, All these knights I have a foot knight already painted in my collection.

This knight below I had already painted the same pattern on a Victix knights miniature
But was a little concerned that I wouldn’t be able to replicate it on this smalls miniature
But once I put my mind to it there was no turning back, every colour even the tiny squares
has three layers to it, one of the tricky parts was adding all the black lines on the checked pattern

This next knight drove me rather mad to start with and it took two weeks
of having it sitting on the table to realise I needed to go for a darker first blue
As I needed three layers but not a bright or light blue finish
In the end the hardest part was getting enough of a flow on the silver grey fine lines
either side of the thick line and keeping it as close to the same thickness as I drew it across the folds of horse rider and shield, in total there are 18 thin lines on the miniature and far more wee lions once again all in three layers

Anther generic knights which I have foot and mounted sergeants and foot knigh
To go with

The hardest part on the figure below was just getting the striped
Pattern to look consistent, it was a little harder than I thought

Below is generic minted sergeants which I can use to any side
I now have these in mounted and foot with a knight just above, I have another
Box of these which I’m not sure I’ll get to.

Below is crazy horse eye the wee beasty is in a rather nasty frame of mind
I don’t normally paint eyes on my foot but horses I do I think they just add enough
To make it worth while,

Well that’s another week down really happy with these figures
Pts wise
12 x 28mm cav @10pts each  total 120pts

From DaveD . Kent , I was looking forward to seeing something from you , these don’t  disappoint . Great colour combos . There is some complex work there so 125 it is .

From KentG: 28mm ww2, Japanese Samurai, pirates and confederate artillery (245 pts)

This week has been one where I've been trying to complete some of the projects I've started during the challenge. The figure below is a wargames foundry knight that I thought hey,  I'll just do  a quick paint, then saw a color scheme and lost myself  having way to much fun.

This Chap is for a customers growing French army
He somehow got missed and was sitting in the bottom of a box

We have just 3 Wargames Atlantic 3D printed US para's

These Italian paras are from Warlord games and I managed to
paint these up yesterday, they are really nice metals
I was watching a video on how to paint them while doing it

4 more pirates, you might notice a difference in the bases
I ordered a bunch of bases with slots in the which I'll
used on quite a few which don't have the metal bases already attached

last of the Samurai which have been a lot of fun to paint

And then we have 5 guns to join the confederate forces
these are from the Perry Miniatures metal sets

who doesn't like a line of artillery, hmm,
maybe the Yankee's standing in front of them

                    Points

                1 x 28mm Cavalry = 10pts
                5 x 28mm artillery @ 10pts each = 50pts
                20 x 28mm artillery crew @ 5pts each = 100pts
                12 x 28mm ww2 infantry @ 5pts each = 60pts
                4 x 28mm pirates @ 5pts each = 20pts
                1 x 28mm Samurai = 5pts

                Total points 245

From Millsy: I love a good "gumbo post" with a bit of everything thrown in and this is a cracker Kent. I'm surprised given your volume of output and quality of work that you'd need to watch any video on technique but I guess we can always learn something new no matter how expert we are. The pick of the bunch for me is the French knight with his glorious blue and red combo. Lovely stuff and he'll stand out on the table regardless of anything else alongside. Lovely work as always mate!

From MattW: Directors Chair - Chevalier thunder 70 points

 Chevalier Thunder

My final entry in the studio challenge is my Snow Lords director chair entry, “Chevalier thunder”, where you will see no open helmet on the battlefield, nor wild explosions, or fire arrows. The hope of every medieval fans prayers answered, just knights riding down peasant levy and archers…. These chaps will join my French army for my Mad War - Breton war of independence army. Miniatures are from the Perry plastic WOTR range, based for Impetus.

Perry Miniatures WOTR knights

28mm x 5 mounted @10 points = 50 points

Directors chair studio = 20 points

Cheers

Lovely work Matt! Your work on their livery and lances is impressive. They definitely look ready to run down filthy peasants and pesky archers. They better get in their screen time before the director decides on a rewrite. Huzzah!
