KenR - Count Lobau 28mm French Napoleonic - 40 points

In addition to the Command Bases I did last week I was also working on a Corp Commander base and came up with this for my French Vi Corps.

The base has been extended to 100mm and includes 5 figs in a bit of a diorama. The figures are all 28mm from the Perrys Napoleonic metal range and consists of Count Lobau himself, a General de Division and a Adjutant (all mounted). Added to that are a Hussar and a Guard Tirailleur who are parts of units in and around Plancenoit who are outside the immediate Corp.

Scoring is really easy, 3 mounted 28mm horse at 10 each and 2 foot at 5 each, giving this entry a total of 40 points. I should have some more Spanish Cavalry in today and in the background I'm working on the Glarus section of my Swiss Pike Block.

Having done the Command Bases at the top of the Order of Battle for VI Corps it will be some regular French Infantry next time I come back to these.

Obviously you are going for a top down approach to this project Ken, having completed the Commanders first.  Looking forward to seeing someone for these guys to boss around in the coming week.s. However, another stunning and very busy command base.  I do like the posing and he inclusion of the extra corps units.  I'll look out for your Spanish cavalry.

From RafaelO: Warmaster Lizardmen. The rise of a new Army - [75 points]

Greetings again from Spain. I couldn't post anything last week because we're currently in the middle of university exams here in Spain, and I've been grading more than I'd like.

First of all, I'd like to thank everyone who voted for my entry in the Bonus Theme Empire. Congratulations to the other participants, because all the entries were excellent.

This year I had planned to paint mainly French units for my Napoleonic army, but... my brother changed those plans, at least partially. He recently bought a Warmaster Dwarf army, and since I still had my Lizardmen armies in their bags... I had no choice but to start working on them.

So far, I've managed to paint, in the last two weeks (I couldn't post last week), a unit of Saurus, a unit of Skinks, and a unit of Kroxigors.

First, I'll show you the big ones: the Kroxigors.

The second unit I painted was the Saurus.

The third was the Skinks, for which I changed the metallic tones to make them even more distinctive.

Finally, I've managed to paint a colonel on horseback for my old guard.

As always, I followed my preferred painting style: White Primer, Xpress paint, Contrast, metallics, washes, and then highlights.

In summary

9 x 10 mm Infantry models Kroxigors @1 points = 9 points.

30 x 10mm Infantry model Saurus @1 points = 30 points.

24 x 10mm Infantry model Skinks @1 points = 24 points.

1 x 20mm Mounted model @8 points = 8 points.

Total 71 points.

I've rated the Kroxigors as 10mm models even though they're actually 15mm in comparison, but the skinks are smaller so...

Cheers Rafa

Why Rafa, you are a fellow teacher as well!? Oh do we know how bad grading is for the available hobby time indeed! I have just finished a large amount of correctionwork myself and am currently onto painting again but nothing so fancy as your stuff shown here! That Old Guard officer is just so incredibly well detailed and crisp and the Lizardmen are very vibrant too. As you correctly pointed out the points on these lizardmen are a bit hard to establish well so I am granting you 4 bonus points in order to get a more rounded out 75 points on these excellent small lizards.

Cheers Sander

MattW- This is the Way - Completed AHPC XV

This is the way XV complete

Another painting challenge over, I tried to focus this year on three projects, two had great success the other I got bored with. I did paint few other bits Roman’s, aircraft and Napoleonics.

20mm Belgians, really happy with my progress I achieved

Then my Greeks, got fed up with them too part way through…. Lots more to do this year to complete the army.

Stalled American airborne, I really failed here to complete some, all 60 figs required was basing, anyway they should be done soonish after I get back from Oz. A few other 20mm pieces also

Roman bits, several pieces not photographed as they have been packed away already. A clean painting desk for a day before I crack on with some napoleonics this week.

I actually completed several more units but failed to take photos last week. as I was organising flights to Australia, rugby in Paris, hangover, then my birthday party, hangover….  Posted them on  the last day but alas too late.

All the best to everyone this year, I am still renovating the chateau and hopefully the new Warganes room renovation goes well along with my new office and library.

Cheers
Matt

From EdwardG - A small Napoleonic offering to keep the numbers tally ticking on (25pts)

 Hej hej all,

I beg the forgiveness for a very long lag between submissions. My trip to Tokyo was excellent from a work perspective but a total disaster on the hobby front. Working each day 9-9 with a business dinner after, didn't leave much time or energy to paint once I'd gotten back to the hotel. 😵

So because of all that I'm massively behind my mini painting plan, and I've only got one mini to submit this week.

He's again a 28mm Foundry mini, he's painted in the uniform of a Voltigeur sergeant (heretical because the mini looks to be that of a grenadier!) and I've painted him up for Silver Bayonet. Because it's a fantasy game, I'm going to ask to claim the fantasy section bonus. Pretty please 🙏

Points for the entry:

28mm foot mini = 5pts

Section bonus = 20pts

Total = 25pts

Thanks all! See you in the very near future for a final post. Question is how much can I get done!?! (It can assure, it will be more a points grenade than a bomb...)

Best,

Edward 😀

Konnichi-wa Ed-san.. and welcome back from the land of the rising sun.. which after my trip there had a whole different meaning ( those after work drinking events can go on for a while.. ). Glad you survived, and got a piece painted all the same here!

So.. a fantasy entry with a naps models.. well mate.. given minion discretion here... and considering the proportions on the model is a bit comic like vs realistic.. I guess we can claim it to be fantasy.. this time ;)

25 pts for you
Kyle

From IanS: 15mm French Napoleonic Infantry, 15mm Pokemon Pike Block, [Ouverdue and Returns](148 points)

Hi,

For my next submission here are some 15mm French Napoleonic infantry in Greatcoats. For years I thought the term was Grey Coat and assumed that all coats in the Napoleonic wars were grey in colour. Amazing what dyslexia does to ones understanding, for years I was confused as a teenager that we had dildo rails in our home, yes they were dado rails. These figures are from Stonewall and their captian range, they are a really friendly company and at this years Warfare at Farnborough UK, I helped out with setting up the show and had the pleasure of moving Stonewall. So I took the opportunity along with my son to get in first on their stock, and unfortunately cleared their stock of certain codes. The figures will be part of a division for 1812/13.

Now for the Library submission, the section this is for is the Overdue and Returns, these figures were started in Challenge 12 but did not get finished as I got COVID. This was a fun project as my kids (20 and 23) were into Pokemon and at the time I was building a Seleucid army. So this unit is based on them worshiping the Great Pokemon God Falinks. The figures are from Outpost which unfortunately is no longer operating. Nice well proportioned figures and paint up well as long as its not me.

Pokemon God Falinks

Points Being Claimed:
 48 x 15mm French Napoleonic Infantry at 2 pts each = 96pts
 16 x 15mm Pikemen at 2pts each = 32pts
Library Overdue and Returns section = 20pts
 Total Points being claimed 148pts

I always like 15mm figures, Ian, and these are very fine indeed. The French are great (many thanks to the painting Gods for greatcoats!), but your pikemen really brought a smile upon my face. The Pokémon God Falinks indeed! Your maths are spot on, so another 148 points for you.

Please remember to resize your photographs though, and a map woud be nice too!
