This Is Not To Be Sneezed At
It is still winter here, but the golden wattle is in full bloom all over Melbourne. I shot these pictures yesterday (Friday) afternoon, but don't be fooled by the clear blue sky because it was freezing. We had hail alerts and the sky, overcast for most of the day, was a range of blue, grey and almost black with storm clouds when I shot these frames. Wattle, as you know, belongs to the acacia family - and is a hay fever trigger for some people. But it appeals to my photographic instincts, because it is like a bright yellow snowstorm, with each tiny bloom perfectly formed, like an imitation snowflake.
