Chuck Mangione was actually making great Jazz records years before the single "Feels So Good" was released. He was a member of Art Blakey's Jazz Mesengers recording on 2 Art's releases Buttercorn Lady & Hold On, I'm Coming. Mangione released his first solo record in 1970. However after the 1977 single hit #2 on The Billboard Singles Chart, and #4 on The Billboard Adult Contemporary Chart, Manjione was unfairly labeled as the Kenny G of the flugelhorn. This kick ass recording from 1994 is a great example why that label was wrong and why Chuck Mangione is still touring and recording to this day.
