This is one bad ass performance, for those who love this era of Santana. The band has moved into a very Jazz oriented music mode leaving, for the most part, the Latin Rock behind. The audience response is kind of a little laid back. The local news paper critics (remember those?) all were not impressed. This package must have been put together by Draftervoi (some of you will get the joke) because you get a few of these news articles included with the cover art. Obviously in hind sight the Jazz era of Santana is seen as just another phase of a Great Musicians musical journey...which continues o. If you haven't heard any of the soundboard releases from the Las Vegas Residency you need to seek them out. I have 3 but I do believe they are commercial releases so I can not share them here. Only a one word review needed AWESOME!! So find them.

Even though the title says this is a "FM broadcast" it is actually a soundboard recording. The audience noise is really low in the mix which is why I believe this to be so. That being said this is a nice sounding recording. I have another version of this show which has terrible noise problems. This one is enjoyable throughout.

justdave's notes:
I ripped the waves with DVD Audio Extractor. I then used Goldwave to edit some track marks and add a fade out to the last track. No EQ or Noise Reduction used. No Remixing or Re-mastering done. Even though the DVD listed an LPCM audio as an option the files tested as MPEG-3 95% probability so they were encoded to MP3 320kbps using Trader's Little Helper.
I Am Morbid is a project started by David Vincent after his second and final departure from Morbid Angel. This departure was due to to the critic and fan response to the reunion album Illud Divinum Insanus. It was a disappointing mixed bag of songs that even had founder Trey Azagthoth call some of them "silly". David Vincent formed I Am Morbid with Tim Young who played drums on Illud Divinum Insanus. David Vincent stated I Am Morbid will not play any Morbid Angel songs he did not write. For this I Am Morbid tour Pete Sandoval who played drums in Morbid Angel from Alters Of Madness to Heritic is in the line-up. Pete had been let go from Morbid Angel after having back surgery and converting to Christianity. David Vincent is also involved in the Blackened Death Metal Band Vlitmas. Vlitmas also has Flo Mounier, drummer from Cryptopsy and Rune "Blasphemer" Eriksen, former guitarist of Mayhem.
