On offer today for Sunday Morning Jazz is a great Tribute to John Coltrane. This is a really nice sounding show. The performance is top notch of course. See Freddy Hubbard, McCoy Tyner and Elvin Jones to me are well know for their talent. Now Sonny Fortune and Reggie Workman are names that I have seen pop up playing with other Jazz Stars I like. With the playing here and on others I have heard I am going to delve into their work some. That's how I became a fan of Arild Andersen, noticing his name and saying now I have to check this guy out on his own. Everyone on this recording plays great. Anyone attempting to play Coltrane arrangements has to play great or it's not going to happen. I think these Gentlemen do a damn good job, You are going to enjoy this one, I just have a feeling...

For Your Sunday Morning Jazz Pleasure!

McCoy Tyner is a Jazz Legend and if you only want one bootleg from his Quintet this is the one. It's a very clear recording that has no flaws that should be noted (in my opinion). The band is in great form, tight and well rehearsed. You can just sit back and listen to a fabulous flawless performance.

My Sunday Morning Jazz posts started out because of BigO. They started posting Jazz shows on Sunday morning calling it Jazz On Sunday I think. So yeah like anybody will do with someone else's good idea, I stole it. I really enjoyed downloading their Jazz On Sunday posts. It was a great way to sit and enjoy my coffee in the morning. At the time I started Sunday was my only day off work. I couldn't sleep in on Sunday like Rosebud could so I would make coffee and sit in the living room or weather permitting my back porch and listen to the newest Jazz show I had. Even though I have been retired for a five years I still get up at 5AM.

So don't hold the stolen idea against me especially now that BiO is no more...Let's just say I'm carrying forward the tradition. Enjoy my Friends!!!

Two Jazz Legends combine their tallents for 29 minutes of greatness. This is way too short, but way too good to miss! McCoy Tyner & Michael Breaker together, enough said right there.

I think I downloaded this from a blog called Jazz Boot Experiment. Jazz Boot Experiment is another great outlet for unreleased Jazz recordings in MP3 form. If you like Jazz do yourself a favor and check out this blog.

This is a very listenable recording don't let the "unknown source" scare you away from this piece of John Coltrane's history. The only thing wrong with this one is that is much to short. I have this one on my MP3 player in heavy rotation, I highly recommend it.
