Merry Christmas!!

We would like to wish all our friends a Very Merry Christmas! We have selected for everyone's Christmas Present 3 great new King Biscuit Flower Hour Pre-FM recordings that recently surfaced at The Traders Den. In fact we should be saying "Merry Axemas" because of the Guitar God factor in the recordings. Johnny Winter, Robin Trower, Steve Marriot, Clem Clempson, and Alvin Lee are all included here. A great show with Peter Frampton & Humble Pie on Humble Pie's Good-bye To The Pie Tour in Philly, Johnny Winter & Robin Trower in a broadcast from early in both their careers, and Ten Years After kicking ass in 1973. We hope everyone enjoys the new boots and has a wonderful Christmas!

MERRY AXEMASS!!

While Ozzy Osbourne was recording Bark At The Moon, Black Sabbath had regrouped with Ian Gillan on vocals and a newly sober Bill Ward back on drums. The band set up shop at Manor Studios to bein working on the Born Again album. The group wasn't supposed to be called Black Sabbath, instead it was to be a new Supergroup. The label and management pressure to use the name Black Sabbath was too great and the band gave in. Bill Ward left after the album was finished unhappy  to be back in Black Sabbath without Ozzy. Ian Gillan would leave after the tour to rejoin Deep Purple. Bev Beven of Electric Light Orchestra played drums on the tour. During tour rehearsals the band practiced Deep Purple's Smoke On The Water and E.L.O's Evil Woman but only played the Deep Purple track live.

original upload notes:

01. Nobody’s Fault
And omitted the intro, playing from Vu~aka Rupert. Obbligato, but there is a difference of official and at the timing of the break, the song itself has been completed. Maximum of listening is far from guitar solo / fade-out at the Official, but in this take is it is possible to hear your own finale arrangements.

02. Rats In The Cellar
Please impressed with the intro of the first count. Performance itself has been completed, but the attention point is the No. 2 is playing riff 2 times longer. Further break before the ending is long, has also been recorded for about 30 seconds ending after the break.

03. Home Tonight
Please to startle at twice the length of the prelude to the official count from the opening. And the biggest listening far from the another version guitar solo! Not more guitar solo is recorded, but recorded ending long.

04. Last Child
A melody of the scale of length, and prior to deployment to entering the guitar solo, a very different arrangement and recording. Also ending has been recorded in a long while more fade-out is the same.

05. Back In The Saddle
Please impressed by the count and conversation of intro first. 4 piece playing, you have tight playing unfolded quite different impression with a variety of over-dubbed official. In the version often demo track of long, this track is ending has also been recorded short, as basic to this basic version, is allowed to imagine the process of various gimmicks and arrangements were added official track is completed the track is me.

 6. Combination
Arrangement does not change, but the ending has been recorded about 30 seconds longer.

07. Get The Lead Out
First, the length of the intro riff is different. And arrangements, that are taking the A melody in long, ending has been recorded short, but I can listen to the arrangements such as the number of pre-deployment riff is different.

08. Lick And A Promise
The recorded drum intro that are not fade-in. Ending it is recorded in long, but has been fading out, the riff of Train Kept A Rollin ‘does not contain at this stage.

It's Time To Go Christmas Shopping

Rosebud and I know that it's not quite Christmas Music time yet, but some people are already planning their Christmas shopping sprees for after Thanksgiving. So we have checked all of our Christmas Music links and made sure they are all functioning properly. We have also chosen a couple new Christmas shows, one from Country Music Legend Glen Campbell and one from Jazz Pianist Carla Bley. There will be more Christmas Music shows coming as well.

Back in the days of D & P's Bootleg Tunz World's Community Area, I was sometimes refered to as the finder. I was pretty good at tracking down peoples requests. I was unemployed at the time and had a lot of time to search for and trade for hard to find stuff. There was a request that I wasn't able to fill before the site went down. I had found the show literally the day before the plug was pulled. This Sammy Hagar recording was that request. It's actually Sammy Hagar's first headline show in Houston Texas. Of particular note is the live version of "Young Girl Blues", not a lot of live recordings of it around.

This is a Hans De Vente recording as edited by justdave.

justdave's notes:
Han's uploaded this recording as 2 long files, one per tape side. I decoded the files with Traders Little Helper and separated the tracks with Goldwave v6.15. The files were encoded at a 24 bit rate and have been left that way. I did not remix or remaster the recording in any way. The track "The Bed's Too Big Without You" is divided into 2 parts due to a tape flip from side A to side B. The transition between "Roxanne" and "Can't Stand Losing You" was a little rough where Han's paused the tape to save space, I tried to soften that. The transition between "Can't Stand Losing You" and "Next To You" also had a pause that I softened.

This is a rather large file set so I divided the flac into two parts. You need both parts to unzip.

justdave's notes:
The DVD starts with a documentary about Journey and thier touring with The Rolling Stones and the release of the Infinity album. There was also a documentary interview segment right after track 07 "Blues Jam #2 (instrumental)". I encoded the interview segments at the end of the show to make for a better flowing listen. You can listen to the interview tracks or not either way you don't lose any music. I increased the volume of the tracks but did not remaster the audio at all.

justdave's notes:
I must thank the original uploader of the DVD Deer5001 for his awesome job creating such a fine DVD. Some of the track markings were a little off, with small bits of songs beginnings at the end of others so I corrected those with Goldwave v6.15. I also separated the announcers long Encore break chatter from "Bohemian Rhapsody". The medley of "In The Lap Of The Gods / Seven Seas Of Rhye / Killer Queen" had been cut into separate tracks I joined them for a more seamless listen. I have edited the files so that they play as a continuous show like the DVD, so if you want to burn it to CD-r you will have to choose a place for you CD1 & CD2.

This is a fabulous performance, Adam Lambert does a fine job pay homage to Freddy Mercury. He doesn't try to sound like Mercury as much as channel his influence and spirit. If you had any reservations about seeing this show this is your chance to hear how the band sounds with Adam on vocals. I highly recommend this show and going to see this tour if it comes to a town near you.

Nice sounding broadcast from the Blood Mountain World Tour. Bassist Troy Sanders actually addresses the crowd at this show, something that he rarely does. But then again he says that he is quite stoned after smoking many joints before the gig. The performance does not suffer from Sanders' self confessed stoned state, Mastodon deliver the goods 100%.

justdave's notes:
Han's uploaded the recording as on single file. I decoded the files using Traders Little Helper and separated the tracks using Goldwave v6.15 then re-encoded the files to flac level 8. The original files were at a 24 bit rate and have been kept that way. I did not remaster or remix the recording in any way. There was a drop out in the beginning of "Headknocker" which I shortened, the track cuts out abruptly during the ending guitar solo. "Long, Long Way From Home" cuts in on the opening riff.

Draftervoi's original notes:
The disc label is marked as "unhosted" and the show came with a script. ( The cue sheet is missing).  I've included the script in case you'd like to do the announcing yourself. While the script makes it sound like the show was taking place currently in 1984, the recording is from 1982.  This is an edited, shorter version of a longer show.  Some set lists say the long intro to "The Main Thing" is "South Downs" but it doesn't sound like it to me...

There is also a circulating bootleg of this show with the this set list:
