So while doing a little quick research on if this show had been officially released yet or not I found out something that I found really weird. There has actually been no official re-release of any Buckingham Nicks material since the initial release of their album. The Original Deluxe Expanded Edition by Polydor Records was actually a bootleg made in Korea. In the most recent interviews with Lindsey Buckingham about the material he stated he and Stevie Nicks have had conversations about needing to do something official about the material. He also states that is as far as the discussions have gotten. With the current state of Stevie and Lindsey's relationship they may never come together for this purpose. It would be nice for the fans if they could at least have a producer they trust come in and go through the tapes. The 2 former partners could then come in separately to approve or disapprove of the mixes and packaging. Lindsey seems sincere in wanting to do something with the material, with all sympathies to Stevie who says that the relationship was abusive, she may never want to and rightly so.

Update: The Buckingham Nicks album was finally remastered and re-released by RINO Records on vinyl and CD. There is also an expanded edition that has single edits as bonus tracks.

Side Note:
"Has Anyone Ever Written Anything For You" is a song from Stevie Nicks' solo album Rock A Little. The song was written for Joe Walsh. Joe Walsh told Stevie Nicks the story of his song "Song for Emma" on the album So What? "Song for Emma" was written for his 2 year old daughter who died in a car accident. Walsh told Nicks this story when she visited Walsh's daughter's grave with him.

JustDave's Notes:
I ripped the waves with DVD Audio Extractor. I then used Goldwave to add a fade in and fade out at the beginning and end of the show. I also re-edited some track marks. No EQ or Noise Reduction was used. No remastering or remixing was done. The sound is pretty good, maybe a little muddy in bottom end, but a good listen. The show had lossless audio so it is available in both Flac Level 8 & MP3 320kbps.

The set has a nice collection of Fleetwood Mac & solo material. Stevie also includes a cover of Tom Petty's "I Need To Know". Listening to this show brings back memories of my first car, graduating, and my first experience at being on tour. Looking back it was a terrible mess, but I wouldn't go back and change anything. We were one of the early bands in the growing Underground Power/Speed/Thrash Metal scene. It was hard getting bands like us in the more upscale clubs where all the "cover bands" played. Our bands however had to play the sleaziest dives you could think of. We got the Gay Bars (not all were in bad neighborhoods but they booked Punk bands a lot!), Biker bars (2 things seem universal at biker bars love of Motorhead and Waylon Jennings) and a lot of Teen Clubs (bars that lost liquor licenses). All of which seemed to be exclusively in the worst parts of town. One place was so bad they had armed guards with dogs walking people to and from the parking lot! The bands had to have someone in their bus/truck/van/station wagon at all times to guard against theft.

Okay I will get on with the good part.

01 Jam 16:39

The Band:
Eric Clapton guitar
Peter Green (R.I.P.) guitar
Joe Walsh guitar
Jim Gorden drums
Donnie Scott percussion

So this is a jam featuring 3 of Classic Rocks Guitar Heroes. Eric Clapton, Fleetwood Mac's Peter Green and Joe Walsh, who was playing with The James Gang at this time. A supposed after show jam which is a 16 minute little dream for fans. Joe Walsh is said to be playing the bass for this one, probably a little nervous playing guitar with 2 of the biggest guitar players of the time.

Peter Green died July 25, 2020, he was 73.

John McVie – bass guitar
Mick Fleetwood – drums, percussion
Christine McVie – keyboards, maracas, lead, backing & harmony vocals

This is a great sounding performance from a band in transition. Fleetwood Mac had undergone quite a few line up changes in their career, with those changes would come musical style shifts. The band had just lost singer guitarist Bob Welch to a solo career. In his place they hired Lindsey Buckingham who insisted on his girlfriend Stevie Nicks be hired as well. The bands music would take another musical turn when the Buckingham / Nicks songwriting machine got into high gear. The bands popularity would skyrocket after the release of the multi-platinum Rumors, which has sold over 20 million units world wide.

When Fleetwod Mac was inducted into the Rock & Rol Hall Of Fame, Bob Welch was not included. This was a serious blow to Welch who had been the guitarist/vocalist for Fleetwood Mac for 3 years and 4 albums. Bob Welch left the group in 1974 to pursue different ventures.  First was the Hard Rock power trio Paris, which recorded 2 albums before disbanding. Bob then released his first solo album French Kiss. French Kiss reached #12 on the US Charts and spawned 3 hits, "Ebony Eyes" #14, "Sentimental Lady" #8, and "Hot Love, Cold World" #31. Bob Welch died on June 7, 2012, from a self inflicted gunshot at the age of 66. Welch had suffered health issues and was told by doctors he would not improve.
