No 4-20 celebration would be complete without Snoop Dogg. Snoop is very open about his love for "The Sticky Icky". The man even markets his own blunt wraps. This is a great performance as Snoop pulls out all the fan favorites.

Great sounding recording of a fabulous Eric Clapton gig. Eric was on the road promoting his Behind The Sun release. The album had 3 top 20 singles, "Forever Man" #1, "See What Love Can Do" #20, "She's Waiting" #11. The album was the second release after Eric kicked his alcohol addiction, and the first of two collaborations with Phil Collins.

Continuing with our 4-20 celebration postings we have Stoner Rock legends Kyuss turning in a typically kick ass performance at The Bizzare Festival. Kyuss is one of those bands that everyone in their genre cites as an influence. They are also one of those bands that didn't quite get the recognition they deserved until it was too late and had broken up. Queens Of The Stone Age, Vista Chino, and other bands came from the ashes. A re-union without Josh Homme called Kyuss Lives! was halted by Homme with a lawsuit.

This is one of the best Slayer gigs I've heard in a while. I say this because it's been a long time since Tom Araya hit the scream at the beginning of "Angel Of Death" but he does it here. This is actually the best that I've heard Tom sound in a while. As far as the set goes Slayer is like Ac/Dc or Motorhead you always know what your gonna get, a greatest hits package with a couple new ones thrown in. Since Slayer hasn't released anything since World Painted Blood there is nothing new. Performance wise this thing kicks ass like only Slayer can.

Like many bands, Kansas used radio concerts to get the word out that they were a live act worth putting your hard earned money down see. This CD captures two shows from the early years of the bands career and shows just why they grew to the heights they did. Kansas was always a great live band, who let their audience know they really appreciated the chance to perform for them. The music was always well written and the lyrics thought provoking. In one college music theory class, my professor chose "Carry On Wayward Son" as an example of a perfectly crafted song.
We got this from Dino at D & P's Bootleg Tunz World so you know it's a Quality Recording!

First off look at the cover art that is above this post. Rick James, Van Morrison, & The Kinks, that's a pretty diverse line-up. The Pub Rock of The Kinks, the Funk & Roll of Rick James and the Jazzy Bluesy take on Rock & Roll of Van Morrison. Sounds like something Bill Graham would book at the Filmore. Now no 4-20 celebration would be complete without Rick James belting out "Mary Jane" the man's love song to his favorite smoke.

Stephen O'Malley (Khanate,& Burning Witch) - guitars
Greg Anderson (Goatsnake, & Engine Kid) - guitars

Show is in one long file but the performance is one continuous piece of music.

SunnO))) play an extreme form or metal music labeled as Drone Doom. Formed in 1998 in Seattle Washington by Stephen O'Malley and Greg Anderson partially in homage to the band earth. The band was also influenced by Lou Reed's Metal Machine Music and other such Noise/Music projects. The band performs in dark monk robes drenched in fog and at extreme volumes. The band uses ultra low tunings such as drop A. Songs move along at a snails pace with very little percussion, vocals are delivered as moans, groans, throat chanting and other rhythmic forms of vocalization. The band builds it's sound pieces on the echo, drones, vibrations & feedback given off by their instruments and amplifiers. Sounds are manipulated, filtered and processed to create new sounds, all of which comes together in a type of primal anti-music. I have actually seen fans lying on the floor at concerts to get .."the full effect of the show". Live performances usually are one long musical piece improvised around the basic formats of released musical pieces. SunnO))) is an acquired taste but if you are into earth, Lou Reed's Metal Machine Music, Swans, Boris or Merzbow you might want to check out SunnO))).
