This show is on my player right now as I write this. I'm sitting here at my kitchen table, drinking coffee, looking out at my back yard. My backyard extends into some protected Michigan Wetland. It's about 80 feet deep and twice as wide (I have a double lot). I am legally not allowed to do anything with it but enjoy the view. We took our Halloween pumpkins and threw them in the middle of the back field. Right now 3 deer are laying in my back yard as a 4th stands there munching on one of the pumpkins. It couldn't be more relaxing. Have a good Sunday my friends....Ahhh Rosebud's up gotta go...

This is the first of 2 Pat Metheny shows I'm listening to this Sunday Morning. This one is a nice listen with just a little FM noise in spots but not enough to disturb your lay back Sunday Morning.....Oh there is a longer version of this show out there but I don't have it yet.

Roy Haynes died November 12, 2024, following a short illness, he was 99.

I was made aware of Roy Haynes passing by one of our readers, mikeL. There was no cause given but at age 99 it was probably natural causes. It also would have him around age 85 when this awesome show was recorded. It's only 20 minutes but it's the only show I have of Roy as band leader. Roy Haynes was the sideman to the stars...even being the favorite drummer of Charlie Parker. That in itself is huge, Roy Haynes name is listed on so many classic Jazz releases I would need a separate blog to name them (a slight exaggeration). So add this to your Sunday Morning Jazz playlist you won't be disappointed.
