This is a very nice sounding recording from Pure Prairie League's tour to promote their 7th studio LP Just Fly. This is would be the final tour of this line-up Tim & Larry Goshorn left to form The Goshorn Brothers Band while George Powell retired from the music business to become a hog farmer. Michael Reilly kept the band going eventually hooking up with Vince Gill. Alas when most people refer to Pure Prairie League it's usually for being the springboard for Vince Gill's huge career in Country Music. Vince sang lead vocals on Pure Prairie League's only Billboard Top Ten Hit "Let Me Love You Tonight". The song, which also featured saxophonist David Sanborn, would stay in the Top 40 for 11 weeks. I remember seeing Vince Gill on a game show hosted by Chuck Woolery (can't remember which one), Vince identified himself as the former singer of Pure Prairie League and an out of work song writer, can't remember if he won anything either.
