Thomas Toy / Acme Airline Limousine (No. 38, 29, or 55??) - Red HP

Here's a car with an identity crisis. Underneath the hood are engraved two names: 'Thomas Toy' towards the front and 'ACME' towards the back. The number '38' is also present. Normally, when a number is inscribed somewhere on the toy, that corresponds to the item number the manufacturer has assigned to the toy. Apparently not in this case. In "PLASTIC TOYS - Dimestore Dreams of the '40s & '50s" by Bill Hanlon, he reflects two item numbers: #29 (1947-51) and #55 (1948-51). To be sure, this limousine was also available with a trailer but the write-up is unclear if one item number is for the car alone and the other item number is the one which included the trailer. It measures 4.375" (11.11cm) L x 1.25" (3.17cm) W x 1.125" (2.85cm) H. Enjoy! Opa Fritz

Acme Douglas A-20 Havoc

I've been posting tiny airplanes for a while now cuz that's the box that got dug out of The Cave during a recent archaeological dig :-) They're also easy to photograph on my Amazon MyStudio set-up. Up next is this nifty little gem from Acme, the A-20 Havoc made from 1945 to the mid-'50s and measures 4 1/2" (11.43cm) L x 5 3/8" (13.65cm) wingspan x 1 1/8" (2.85cm) H.

The A-20 was a light bomber/intercept aircraft which served with at least seven countries besides the U.S., but the first recipient of the aircraft was France. It's also well known as the British Boston. First taking flight in 1939 it remained in production until 1944 with Russia receiving more than any other customer, to include the USAAF, under the lend-lease program.

Acme #I-133 1942 Buick Fastback Fire Chief's Car Red HP

This is the third Acme #I-133 car we've posted here on Toys and Stuff, the most recent was last Friday. The other cars were posted as Police Squad Cars, but the original label on the roof clearly shows this to be a a Fire Chief's car from Co No. 7 (Company Number 7). Enjoy! Opa Fritz and Oma Bettina
