LOD Figure Set #8 The Magic of Christmas Santa - Pt 6 Sleigh & Reindeers

The LOD sleigh and reindeers are very well done in this set. However, there is only one reindeer pose and the reins are a bear to place on the reindeers. The 'harness' does not fit snuggly and once the reins are bent out of shape, they tend to hold that position. Setting this up requires patience. The overall length is 16" (40.64cm) . I'll be posting separate photo essays for the reindeer and sleigh only in the next couple of days. Enjoy! Opa Fritz

LOD Figure Set #8 The Magic of Christmas Santa - Pt 5 Elf #3 and Wrapped Presents

I like this pose because the Elf is inspecting a toy, but not just a ball, or a dolly, or a drum. This fella is inspecting a large Greek or Roman Soldier (maybe that's where LOD gets its toy soldiers!!). Cool! LOD made two styles of wrapped presents: a square box and a round box, both of which are shown here. Enjoy! Opa Fritz

LOD Figure Set #8 The Magic of Christmas Santa - Pt 4 Elf #2

I said in a previous post that these LOD Elves are some of the finest Elf sculptures anywhere. One of the reasons is that they look like Elves - not midgets, not dwarves, not little kids dressed up as Elves. They look like an entirely different species. Another reason is that they are all doing something! So many Christmas Elf toys are simply small creatures standing around looking cute. Not LOD Elves - Santa's got them working! LOD Figure Set #8 The Magic of Christmas Santa - Pt 3 The Head Elf Checking 'The List'

I don't know who designed these Elves for LOD but IMHO, these are some of the finest Elf sculpts I've ever seen. They look as if someone was actually watching Elves at work at the North Pole! I'm calling this one the Head Elf and Keeper of 'The List' (how 'bout you - did you make the 'Nice List' this year?). This guy is about 54mm tall. Enjoy! Opa Fritz

LOD Figure Set #8 The Magic of Christmas Santa - Pt 2 Santa

Here's the Santa figure from LOD's Magic of Christmas set. He measures 70mm high. As much as I really like this set, I found it odd that they designed his cap with the top fully upright vs. flopping over on its side as mostly depicted (and as would be expected from a cap like this). It is neat that he's carrying a sack full of toys. Enjoy! Opa Fritz
