MPC Western Buildings Recap

Let's take a look at all the MPC Western buildings posted here - just cuz. I need to figure out what I'm gonna post next :-) Enjoy! Opa Fritz

I do believe I have another fort variation out in The Cave. I got a couple of job lots in with fort pieces and need to look through them to make sure

MPC Wagon Recap

I could've sworn I did a post showing all the MPC Western wagon's appearing here on the blog, but it looks like that didn't happen - more than likely I was getting ready to do it then got distracted. I like doing posts like these because they lump together all the different installments of a particular thread into a condensed form.

It's crazy how much mileage MPC/Miner/Multiple got out of these castings. Change the color of the wagon or the color of the wheels and you got a new toy. Switch the lettering on the wagon covers and BAM you got a new toy. Go from plastic to cardboard covers or loads and POW, you got another new toy! How much fun is that? LOL Enjoy! Opa Fritz

Buckboard Wagon with Cardboard Crate Load - Red

Chuck Wagon (I call this a Chuck Wagon only because I seem to remember it being in a set that called it that. In point of fact it could be something else)

Hitches
By adding extra hitches to the front you could expand this is into one l-o-n-g rig!

Evolution of the 2-horse hitch
Early 1-horse hitches with a strap holding the horses in place plus a spacer bar to hold the two hitches apart

2-horse hitches with a spacer bar to keep them apart.

A later style of 2-horse hitch - one-piece casting. Additional teams of horses could be added to the front of this hitch

MPC Western Street Front - Yellow-ish SP

Here's that other streetfront I referenced in previous posts. This was part of Miner Industries Playset No. 1750 Westward Ho! Wild West Playset (1970) blogged back in Oct 2021.

My set was missing the cardboard insert and it took over a year to find one. It was part of a job lot of MPC ringhands, building and fort parts. With the insert now in place I felt better about taking the usual photo essay. The building is kind of a muted mustard yellow-ish: not a bright lemon yellow but bordering on tan. In any case it's a nice addition to the MPC Western building collection. Enjoy! Opa Fritz
