If you have the Ideal Dodge City set, here's a chance to see what the three different Ideal wagons look like when paired with the streetfront. These were all sized to the 40mm-45mm range and are smaller than let's say, Marx or MPC. Unfortunately Ideal only made a small number of figures in limited poses to match so you'd either have to search out other brands for 45mm figures or just say to heck with it and pull out your Marx 54mm figures and play. Ideal 40mm Wagon - Green SP
For right now, this'll be the last Ideal wagon to post. In another week or so I should have another one joining the fleet. None of my wagons came with a driver that I noticed. Ideal did make a driver and maybe there's one in my tote bins somewhere so I'll have to double-down and look again at all my stuff.
This piece has all the earmarks of an Ideal wagon, however the 'Ideal' hallmark is missing from the wagon bottom. It could have come that way from the Ideal factory, it may have been made by Ideal for inclusion in another companies playsets (toy companies back in the day would provide pieces for other toy companies), or it could be a knock-off. My guess is it was simply made this way by Ideal - perhaps the plug with the Ideal name went missing that day on the assembly line and they inserted a blank. Anywho - Enjoy! Opa Fritz

Ideal 40mm Wagon - Blue SP
Here's a nice wagon from Ideal. Unfortunately I had to borrow the hitch from another wagon in order to take photos. Far too many Ideal wagons are offered for sale without hitches because it would appear that once they broke they were just thrown away instead of being repaired. I'm not sure these were ever offered as covered wagons. The cover for the Chuck Wagon - which was posted a few days ago - does not fit on this wagon body and I have yet to see a proper cover offered for sale alongside this piece. This one measures 7 1/4" (18.41cm) L x 2 1/2" (6.35cm) W x 2" (5.08cm) H. Enjoy! Opa Fritz
