CIRCUS TIME: Hardy Plastics & Chemical Corp. Circus Wagon No. 22 - Green with Yellow Wheels and OB

okay okay, last Hardy wagon  LOL

This time I have one with the original box. So far we've seen red and green versions of the wagon and it wouldn't surprise me if other colors were offered, after all, this was sold at a time when brightly colored toys were the order of the day. Enjoy! Opa Fritz

I love it when the original price tags are still on the boxes. Check it out: 69¢  at Woolworth's!

CIRCUS TIME: Hardy Plastics & Chemical Corp. Circus Wagon No. 22 - Red with Yellow Wheels

Here's another Hardy circus wagon with slightly different colors. The body is red like the last one posted and intact, but the wheels on this one are yellow while the horses are a marbled gray/white. Enjoy! Opa Fritz

CIRCUS TIME: Hardy Plastics & Chemical Corp. Circus Wagon No. 22 - Red with Green Wheels

Let's look at a circus toy today - something not associated with scale model building. Hardy Plastics & Chemical Corp. of New York, N.Y. put out a line of really nice plastic wagons back in the '50s. I featured their horse drawn fire engine here on the blog before and now it's time to feature this circus wagon. Unfortunately my sample has a piece broken off of the back of the wagon  but it's still a nice addition to the wagon collection. It measures: 9 1/4" (23.49cm) L overall x 2 3/4" (6.98cm) H (to top of wagon) x 2 7/8" (7.30cm) W. These wagons were pull toys and were originally offered with strings in the front. Many times the strings are missing or replaced - this example still sports a partial string. Enjoy! Opa Fritz

The Hardy wagons compare favorably with O-scale wagons so would look just fine in a circus parade
