BREWERIANA: Matchbox Dinky No. YYM 36791 1/43 Scale Diecast Anheuser-Busch Horse Drawn Wagon (1998)

Wow! It's been over two years since I posted any toys or trains related to beer or spirits! It's not like I don't have anything to post, it's just that I get distracted. Anywho, this is an old school Anheuser-Busch wagon made by Matchbox-Dinky. It's not the now iconic red wagon that tours the States but rather a much different design and my guess is one of several different types of wagons Budweiser may have utilized back in the day. It's a combination of diecast and plastic parts and measures 6.25" (15,87cm) L x 2" (5.08cm) W x 2.25" (5.71cm) H.

Budweiser Clydesdale's and Wagon Visit Las Vegas

Yesterday we were fortunate enough to see the iconic Budweiser Clydesdale's and wagon. They were all decked out for Christmas and what a beautiful sight it was. It's also a great tie-in to our Beer, Wine, and Spirits paraphernalia series Enjoy! Opa Fritz and Oma Bettina

Parkbräu Beer Wagon, Zweibrücken, Germany

Beer wagons are cool. Even if you don't drink beer it's not hard to appreciate their uniqueness. Some are large and grandiose like the Budweiser wagon while others are small and quaint. Among the 'small and quaint' variety is this wagon from Zweibrücken, Germany. These photos were taken at one of the many fests during the 1980's and it was actually my first time (that I can remember) seeing a beer wagon in real life after having seen them on TV and in the movies. As I begin to photograph or scan more of the collection we'll be posting more beer stuff, so for now - Enjoy! Opa Fritz and Oma Bettina

"Hopfen und Malz
Gott erhalt's"

Roughly translated: "Hops and malt God preserves". Or "Hops and malt never get old"

It rhymes a whole lot better in German!!
