Circus advertising trains, circus passenger trains, now finally a circus train full of flat cars loaded with wagons as the Lionel General was again pressed into service to haul this short string of flats. This whole parade thing was done back in March thru May when I had w-a-y more wagons than I did flat cars to haul them on. Since then, I've been able to grow the fleet of flat cars enough such that a much longer consist can be run once my larger layout is up and running again. As a bonus, while I was messing with all these circus toys, World Circus Day fell on the 5 of April, just about in the middle of this time frame. Enjoy! Opa Fritz

CIRCUS TIME, TRAIN TIME: K-Line by Lionel 6-21237 RINGLING BROS. Flat Car with 3 Circus Wagons
While Lionel had circus train sets featuring operating stock cars and gondolas, K-Line was the first to offer a ready-to-run flat car specifically designed to hold wagons and mimicking real world circus flat cars. When Lionel acquired the tooling and rights to the K-Line name, they continued to offer flat cars but this time under license with the Ringling Bros. Barnum & Bailey Circus. Enjoy! Opa Fritz
These wagons were built-up at the factory so it's interesting to note that the ends on this wagon were assembled wrong. The open end has to be in back by the steam boiler. That gave the attendant a way to shovel coal into the boiler. On the left is a correctly assembled wagon, on the right the wagon from this flat car
