AOME Battle Scale Figures (International) - Orc with Mace

Here's another figure in the Play Along Toys series of figures marketed for international sale, the Orc with Mace. I've been photographing these figures using the Amazon.com MyStudio setup. Overall the results are nice and evenly lit but the colors seem a little 'flat' to me - I'll keep tryin' though. Enjoy! Opa Fritz and Oma Bettina

AOME LOTR - Orcs of Cirith Ungol

Today on Toys & Stuff we bring another handsome group of dustbin licker's! :-) We've been looking at various nasties from Middle Earth the past couple of weeks and this crop of Play Along Toys, Armies of Middle Earth Orcs is no disappointment. If anything, these three are somehow dirtier and grungier than the others presented. All-in-all they make a fine addition to the coterie of bad guys! Enjoy!

AOME LOTR - Fires of Mount Doom

Today we have a really cool Soldiers and Scenes set from Play Along Toys: Fires of Mount Doom. It's cool, not because of the Orcs, I mean, after all, Orcs are cheesy, nasty little boogers. This set is cool because it contains the cause of all the mischief in Middle Earth - Sauron! He is one big, bad mudda and towers over those puny Orcs and everyone for that matter. Sauron simply exudes evil!! From any angle he looks mean and menacing. Awesome! The figure comes with a huge mace and sword and I've photographed him in a number of poses so today I'm gonna include more shots than usual - just cuz he's neat! I've always been a fan of the books and movies and it always fascinates me as to how the designers, graphic artists, Tolkien interpretive artists, and others come up with their designs. It's an imaginative process that quite frankly eludes me, but we are all the richer for it by being able to enjoy the fruits of their imagination and labor. Well, the fruit of their labor in this set of three figures includes: an Orc with Mace, Sauron, and Orc Scout. Enjoy!
