Another brightly colored mini-bomber - this time in yellow.

No Payton collection would be complete without at least a couple of the brightly colored pieces in it. While the olive green colors are terrific as Army pieces, toys were all about bright colors back in the day and to that end we have this salmon colored mini-bomber to post today.

This one is a 4-engine bomber and measures 2" (5,08cm) L x 3.5" (8,89cm) wingspan x .625" (1,58cm) H.

For the next umpteen days we'll be covering Payton mini-planes (my designation, not Payton's). As you can see by the first photo, the mini-planes are quite a bit smaller than the larger bombers. I have identified five different styles of mini-planes: one bomber (or perhaps cargo aircraft) and four fighter jets. I believe these five may be all there are but you never know, vintage toy collecting can always come up with surprises.

This is the last color variation of the Payton 6-engine bomber I have in my collection, this one having the number '9' under the fuselage spine. Again, sans wheels.
