Depending on how I photograph this TootsieToy Flash Gordon rocket ship, either Ming's face (which appears on the port wing) or Flash Gordon's face (which appears on the starboard wing) will appear. From this angle, Ming appears, ergo the title "Ming 1". Enjoy! Opa Fritz

Lazy Day Post

Another lazy post today. The past couple of weekends were busily spent taking photos but today we have a storm front moving in and it looks like cloudy, wet weather in store for us. We need it though, having been in drought mode far too long. But the whole mood is just sort of tired and lazy, soooo I thought I'd post some odds and ends of photos taken the past week or month or whatever. The toys are all posed on the diorama base I made last year. 'Nuff said - Enjoy!

TootsieToy 1978 #1793 Flash Gordon and The Evil Ming Playset - Pt2

Today we'll take a quick look at the figures included in the TootsieToy Flash Gordon set. The hard plastic figures are fairly large measuring from 3 1/8" (7.9cm) H for Flash to 3 3/8" (8.6cm) H for Ming while the spaceships are much smaller by comparison measuring only 5 1/8" (13cm) L x 1 1/2" (3.8cm) H. I like their retro styling which stays true to the 1930s roots which can plainly be seen on Dale Arden's bun hairdo. Ming has a deliciously malevolent bad guy look to him while Flash's All-American hero look is nicely done as well. Next time we'll take a look at the support vehicles. Enjoy!
