OU: This comes straight from the japanese taper who put the show on CD for me and your enjoyment. I think these are some of the very early shows from the Rajaz tour. Brand new band and new material. I saw that tour later on in Torino and had a great time. But honestly there is no Camel album or show that has disappointed me...
Enjoy! ldb

OU: claimed to be recorder 2, this is really the same recorder as the other Wojtek release. Some say this comes from the master... master or not, it sounds a lil better than the other release, this one is much more clearer really, reveals some hiss but we gain in brightness here. I think the encores were patched from the Wojtek release, since some versions i saw of this don't include the encores, but, here we have the encores and a bit of tape/mic issues and audience noise before Money that it's not on the wojtek release, so who knows for sure, maybe they are from the main source too and just sound different because the taper moved, who knows. I think there's a change of sound when the recording cuts at SOYCD 6-9, when it continues it sounds a bit darker than the rest. But the encores sound pretty similar really with the ones of the Wojtek version, they could be the same. Anyway this is well worth for the 'main source', and to me is an upgrade to the Wojtek release. -gbc

OU: I was browsing on my masters and found this one. Since I uploaded a PFM show last time I could not resist to select something from the other great italian progressive band of the 70's, Banco Del Mutuo Soccorso. Where PFM is based on the orchestral side with an accent to the instrumental side of music, Banco is centered on Francesco Di Giacomo's magniloquent vocals. Untill the early 90's they had two keyboard players (Nocenzi bros) and today only Vittorio is still in the band, assuring both piano and keyboards parts.
Featured here is a great sounding show recorded at RAI studios (Italian Public Radio) and broadcasted live. Some 7 years ago already (it seems like yesterday). If you like italian prog you cannot miss Banco. Here they play mostly material from the 70's with some masterpieces from their great album "Darwin". Soundwise this is stellar and comes from my own recording straight from the radio!
Dedicated to Mr_Plod and Commissario Rex...they will love this! Enjoy! -ldb

OU: In 1975 a bunch of friends from and around Ferrara (Italy) got the news about a gig from the progressive band AREA.... so they took all his bicycles ( thery were so young and so without money) and went to the palce,...someone make a 20 KM trip to it.
But one of the guys was so smart to bring woth him his new brandly PHILIPS N2204,,,,
and he recorded what can be put inside a C-60 tape.
In 2011 AREA reformed and did a gig in Ferrara, all they guys re-joyned the gig and this tape was lent to me to be spreaded along the globe, for the first time ever. So enjoy this recording ( BTW is very clear, tape was good quality) and say THANX to this bunch of frendly Italian guys! ciao, LONGJAM

This one might be a kind of question mark for those 'non-italian' fans of the band. This one does not come from the early or mid-seventies where the band had been touring abroad and having huge success both in Europe and North America. This comes from the very late 70's where the band was back in an italian kind of status. Their last tour in the USA was in 1977.
Progressive rock was also at its lowest level but PFM was still at a very high level. In early 1979 they toured with italian singer Fabrizio De André and in the summer they decided to tour without a new album, just for the fun of it. In
the shows, they would alternate new, yet-to-be-released tracks, jam sessions, older stuff and even a Beatles cover! The mood was very relaxed and after the dismiss of vocalist Bernardo Lanzetti in October 1978, the band was more relaxed behind able to play as the old 5-piece band where a new musician would be introduced (Lucio Fabbri) at the violin.
That is why summer 1979 is one of my favourite PFM tour ever. There is some freshness in the air, abandoning the heavy solos from the 70's but still with a jazz-rock feel that I like. And this is probably the best show I have from that tour, somehow early in the tour since the band had begun to play in late July 1979. During August they would preferably play holiday venues then concentrating in september to bigger towns (Milano, Torino, Roma).
Caorle is a nice little town in the adriatic coast, not very far from Venice. The quality of this show is stunning considering that it is over 30 years ago, soundwise is full and reach and one could think it comes from a recording coming from the band
itself. Enjoy PFM! -ldb

You can find a video excerpt from this concert here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YKUBBGDwOKw Pretty much standard setlist for banco in the early 00's. By then, almost all the tracks from the recent album 'Il 13' were gone and what was played was the best from the 70's production. Very enjoyable setlist, infact.
Banco Del Mutuo Soccorso is - along with Area, PFM, New Trolls and Le Orme - the leaders in italian progressive rock scene. They released some of the most beautiful work of italian discography. They even tried to hit the british and american market with english versions of two of their albums, released back then by Manticore and re-printed recently so now they are back in the catalogue. Enjoy! -ldb

OU Notes: The band certainly did not disappoint us with this killer setlist and performance. Now, that's how you do a final world tour! I taped from the back of the arena, lower level just right of center. The crowd around me was pretty well-behaved, and the sound in this venue is always good. They sure don't make arenas like they used to. If you get a chance to see the Priest on the Epitaph tour, do yourself a favor and go. Enjoy!

Notes from the Eek: I'm not going to go into all the particulars about what I did to get this result. Suffice to say, It took a lot of patience and masterful cunning. No effects, nr, hr, flangers, Compression, or EQ, etc., were used in this reworking... SR from 12:37 thru 14:49 (or so) has no SBD portion due to a cut in the original recording.. And sorry about the artwork hijack. PLEASE feel free to make some artwork ;-) -Enjoy. Eek

*I cannot be totally positive that this is the correct line up for this performance. The biggest name in question here would be VIRGINIA SCOTT. It is around this time that she may have already left the band. To the best of my knowledge she did not appear on their 1972 release "Pathfinder". At the time of this recording Pathfinder is not out yet and the songs are premiered Live here.

Remastering is just a Hobby.. take it and enjoy or just pass on it. The choice is yours.
This version is never meant to be definitive.
Remaster Notes - I got this source from an FBO Download, Thanks to "wizzy" for posting it and "Riverside Productions" for the initial mastering. The sound was unaltered and sounded "bland" and just really needed to be balanced & beefed up.
I added a few seconds of Plantations after Dancing Days that was missing from another Millard Source. You will be able to tell the difference of the sources.

Review from Allmusic.com by Bradley Torreano:
Boasting good sound quality and a great collection of rare songs, this is the strongest bootleg that has been released featuring the Replacements. "Ought to Get Love" is a fine pop/rocker in the tradition of Westerberg's idol Alex Chilton, while "Kissing in Action" shows off their hard rock roots with a driving Kiss-style riff. Versions of "Route 66," "Tossin' and Turnin'," and "Twentieth Century Boy" are all solid, if sloppy; but the fine cover of the Western classic "Cool Water" is the best non-Westerberg track. Tommy Stinson handles the vocals on the wonderful "Satellite," while a guest appearance by Tom Waits livens up the bouncy "Date to Church." But what makes this all worth it is "If Only You Were Lonely," the first single released by the band and one of the finest ballads ever penned in the post-punk era. Westerberg strums an acoustic guitar and wails drunkenly about a hidden obsession with both an immature smugness and a sad optimism, hinting to the exact contrast that would make their music so essential only a few years later. This is one of the best places to find some wonderful music by one of the greatest rock bands of the 1980s.

Donovan: Philadelphia 1977 (VG+ Aud) FLAC

The Lostbrook Tape Series - Volume 39
Donovan Philadelphia 1977-08-02-fr

OU: Attending a concert in another city was always exciting, but going with two of my closest friends was a magical experience. Though we had tickets for three upcoming performances at Madison Square Garden, John, Jody, and I decided to drive to Philadelphia for two additional nights of Yes and Donovan. We had mediocre seats, but Jody and I were
able to add some cash and trade up to the fifth row in right center.
Once we were seated, I delivered a stub to John so that he could squeeze in with us. Donovan exceeded our expectations with a superb electric show that kicked off an incredible week in our lives. Opening night in Philadelphia will always remind me of teenage road trips and life-long friendships.

Lineage: Unknown recording device > n generation copy > Aiwa Tape Deck TC-WE475 > Audiophile 2496 Soundblaster > HD > SoundForge 7.0 > CD Wave > FLAC Frontend (level 6)

Franz Di Cioccio - drums, vocals
Giorgio 'Fico' Piazza - bass
Francone Mussida - guitars
Flavio Premoli - keyboards, vocals
Mauro Pagani - violin, flute, vocals

This is probably the oldest audience recording from PFM and it is dated close to two very important facts: on December 20th the band played in Roma in front of Greg Lake who then would be instrumental to the band signing to the Manticore label. A few weeks earlier the band had released its second album called 'Per Un Amico'. Infact, most of the audience did not know the new material at all...
This tape has its historical value, then. It is also a treasure because it shows the band in its very early stages, playing material from the second album in the italian version, where later on the material performed would be rather taken from 'Photos Of Ghosts' (which is Per Un Amico released in English language). Soundwise, this is a 38 years old recording but still the sound is acceptable and listenable. You will have some fun listening to this!
The band is still alive and kicking these days but it is good to remember the good old days... -ldb

Average Reader Rating: 98% - Nirvana Bootography Review:
This is a bootleg classic, if there is such a thing. This is an FM broadcast quality recording. The band isn't very energetic, and the performance suffers (especially when compared to shows played a week earlier in France). The KTS version has a 6 panel fold-out cover, including two panels of their own catalog.
The extent of Kurt's interaction with the audience is a simple "Gracias" before "Smells Like Teen Spirit." Krist tries to bring up the sprits and leaves the crowd with many memorable quotes. Sad to say only two full shows and one TV apprentice were all that was left in the band's future.
Here are the liner notes by Professor Stone (bad grammer and all) which pretty much says it all...
Well what can you say? So far 1994 has been pretty rough for Nirvana. A near fatal accident in Rome has brought out the vultures hungry for a corpse. Well tough luck suckers, our boy Kurt is still with us and with only a few weeks off to recover, its back on the road to continue the "In Utero" European tour. None of this "Eddie's got a headache, cancel all engagements for the rest of the year", Kurt nearly dies, but within weeks he's vowed to be back on the boards.
It is going to take a lot more than this to knock down Nirvana's wall. Regardless of the relentless media attack Kurt Cobain, Courtney Love and Nirvana are here to stay, like it or not. The "In Utero" album delivered everything it promised and more, Kurt Cobain has proved himself as the first classic songwriter of the nineties if only you would look beneath the headlines.
What a performer chooses to do in the privacy of his own home, or hotel room, is down to him alone and nobody else. The sad thing is that the people who continually cut down Kurt for his choice of personal treatment always hail the Keith Richards of this world as heroes. Talk about double standards. At the end of the day it is the chords that count, not the chemicals. Nirvana make stunning music and have never failed to deliver the goods. It is time that people checked out Kurt's lyrics and then they might just begin to understand.
In a conversation in the Nirvana Collectors' forum, the sound quality of this disc was determined to be slightly less than that of "XXII II MCMXCIV". For this reason, "Roma" receives a grade of 99% while "XXII II MCMXCIV" gets 99% (one point subtraction). This is still arguably the best disc to pick up for 2-22-94 since the artwork is exceptional.

02. Get Up, Stand Up! 5:38
03. Exodus 9:42

OU: Great quality for an audience recording. There is a cut at the beginning of No Woman No Cry, but it doesn't really leave out any of the song, just a couple of seconds from the keyboard intro. The Heathen up to Crazy Baldheads is a medley. Some guy in the crowd begs for Is This Love after Jammin' and the band plays it as the next song. The show finishes up with Get Up Stand up leading into Exodus, which is cut near the very end, leaving out the crowd applause at the end of the show. Do everyone a favor and share this with at least one other person! -Tuff Gong

Pink Floyd: Columbus 1994 (VG- Aud) FLAC

1994-05-29_front
Date: 1994-05-29
Name: Keep Hoping
Venue: Buckeye Stadium, Columbus, Ohio
Recorder: 3
Quality: VG
Keep Hoping "The Lost 94 Tapes" (MCD007)

Pre-tracked CD of Master Tapes -> Flac -> Wav -> Cool Edit Pro 2.0 -> Flac Front End (level 2) -> Flac
OU: This is a rare uncirculated copy of the 1994 Columbus show. I noticed an unexplainable skip in the beginning of 'Learning to Fly'. The recording was also extremely bassy and when I received it, I removed the heavy bass throughout the show and it still seems a bit bassy. I did not want to alter the recording too much but it had to be done. The recording was also very fast so I used some effects to slow it to normal speed. This show was not de-hissed. There is an audience fade out and fade in between tracks 4 and 5, songs complete. There some nice effects before Money, and 3 obvious show indentifiers. The first is alot of jibber jabber about from someone close to the recorder arguing about seats 24 and 21. The second is during 'Run Like Hell' where Guy yells out "They're gonna send you back to Columbus in a cardboard box." The third is when Gilmour sneaks in a few bars of Crosby Stills Nash & Young's "Ohio."

Description: Set aside any ideas you may have about Tchaikovsky's Violin Concerto or how well the violin can be played (not kidding)because Kavakos has set a new standard.
“This week there was unexpected debut with the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, which should almost feel like an open audition for any conductor. After the Italian Antonio Pappano had reported sick due to a shoulder injury, Karel Mark Chichon (London, 1971) was asked to replace him at very short notice. Chichon’s talent for music drama was revealed on Thursday in the overture to Verdi's La forza del destino. Unerringly he held the suspense, and had a firm grip of the orchestra. In Borodin's Second Symphony he gave it the right high romance of a fairytale Russia but with his heart on his sleeve. The slow movement sung and sizzled. Audition succeeded."
