OU Notes: Master reel from the JEMS archives. This was acquired along with other various broadcasts from the Philly area into the archives from the same taper who recorded these off the radio circa 72-75. We don't know much about this band but this does seem to be a rarity and if circulated prior we are willing to bet nothing comes close to this from a sound quality standpoint. We are unsure the exact date but have it pegged most likely as happening sometime in 1973 since the most current songs they play here are from the album Parcel Of Rogues that was released in early 73. They also released 2 albums in 74 so that should put this show sometime in that time frame between the Parcel Of Rogues and the subsequent album Now We Are Six. Steeleye Span along with Fairport Convention are probably the 2 best known bands of the british folk rock scene. This show captures Steeleye playing mainly Irish/English/Scottish traditional songs along with some american country standards like Truck Driving Man.
