OU: It took a few months, but I hounded an engineer at KGB San Diego until he gave me a nice Pre-FM transfer of this great early show.
I uploaded it a few years back at Dime, and lots of folks grabbed it. It was a major upgrade to the circulating version then.
Now it's off all the trackers I use so I did a fresh transfer of the master again. This is not the same rip I did 3 years ago. It's all new.

The Police: Boston 1978 (Soundboard) FLAC

Here's an early show from The Police in Boston in the fall of '78. Recorded at The Rathskeller in Kenmore Square just a stones throw from Fenway Park, this Basement Club was the premier venue for Punk and New Wave in Boston in the late 70's. A friend of mine's band played "The Rat" often so I can testify that it was as Intimate as it was Rowdy! This show is originally listed as soundboard, however the sound is in Mono and was probably EQ'd at sometime. All praise go to the Original Recordist & Seeder, and as always Your Comments are Appreciated!!!

Nice FM broadcast from The Police US tour supporting the Roxanne single. That's a full set minus Can't Stand Losing You (played twice) and Truth Hits Everybody. It get cuts off just prior to the band starting the encore. But it sounds warm and its a powerful performance, typical for the band in the late 70's. Sting clearly refers to Buffalo a few times, so no doubt on the venue there.

The Police: Ghost in the Machine Demos 1981 (FLAC)

The 'Ghost' Demos are nothing new to the general Police scene, but I noted that two primary versions existed: One with an evidently complete 'ELTSDIM' tacked on the end, but without the 'Take 1' version of 'Don't Think We Could Ever Be Friends', from the collection generally known as 'Ghosts in the Studio'. I have taken the first versions (which are superior), added the extra 'ELTSDIM' from the inferior 'Ghosts in the Studio collection, and arranged the tracks in a logical order (ie album running order for the first 6 tracks).
In short this is a complete 'Ghost Demos' compilation which is designed to replace the previous incomplete versions.
A note - on the 'Ghosts in the Studio' collection it should be noted that there is also an "alt version" of "too much information" and "one world". These are NOT 'alternative' takes but dupe tracks simply taken from a slower (pitch low) tape source.
The present collection does not include these two fake 'alt' versions as they are infinitely inferior to the tracks they are otherwise duplicates of.
