This was the first of two evenings that Genesis played their Lamb show at the Hippodrome. The second night's gig has been widely known since from an excellent audience recording, originally in circulation as the TAKRL double vinyl boot 'Swelled and Spent', and variously reissued on CD, culminating recently in the FAde project's debut release, FAde01. Shortly after I established the Hogweeds project I was contacted by a member offering a previously untraded tape of this 2nd May show. Upon receiving a copy of this new recording, I was delighted to conclude that this was not only a new recording, but that it was of a previously unknown show. I attempted first to confirm with the taper the date of the recording, but was told that he had attended several Lamb shows in the UK, and whilst he held a ticket stub from the 2nd May performance, he could not say for sure that the recording originated from that performance. He was not too confident about his memory :-) Comparing this recording with others, a few things stand out. Firstly it includes a performance of The Knife, indicating it was one of the last shows of the UK tour, as previously they had played 'Watcher' as the second encore. For instance there is a recording of the Bristol show on the 30th, and 'Watcher' was played there. Secondly, Peter's 2nd Rael story is very similar to the Bristol show, and also to the 2nd May Birmingham performance. As mentioned in the notes for FAde's release, the 2nd May recording has always been attributed to that date, but there is no conclusive proof that this is the case. It may also be the 1st May show. Equally, it is only the taper's memory that this new recording was made on the second night, and could equally be the first. I did send a copy to someone who attended the 1st May show, and they concured that at the very least it was certainly a Birmingham date. In the absence of any indication either way, I am concluding that this new recording is the performance of the 1st May, and thus avoiding all the confusions that would ensue from trying to argue for a re-accrediting of the more well-known recording. But in all possibilty, either recording could be either night. Having established this recording's authenticity, I requested permission to remaster and release it, which the taper granted. Subsequently I received the master tapes, and it is from them I have made this remaster. I should also mention that the original CDR transcription that I recieved has recently found its way into a few people's hands, however it does have a few problems on it, which have been corrected on this version. The tape itself is quite good mono, I think most traders would grade it as a B, and more towards a B+ than B-. It is a little muffled and lacking detail, but on the plus side, has little distortion or tape saturation, and documents nearly the complete show. Beginning with a new transcription from the masters (pitched correctly - I think the original transcription was a bit fast), I have then carefully denoised the recording. As usually with my approach to denoising, you will still hear tape hiss, but the treble is much brighter and sharper than on the original tape, while the hiss levels should be notably attenuated. The eq balance was fairly OK, although as is usual with a lot of old amateur recordings, the lower mid-range was a bit boxy, and so I've softened it off a little. One major problem with this recording was microphone bumps. The mic was hand held, or at least in a position where it could easily be tapped. And it was, frequently. I have gone through this recording and removed each bump, one by one. There are a few that are still present, because it was too difficult to isolate them from louder sections of the music. But most of them were in quiet sections, quite a few being taps in time with the music. Someone was enjoying the gig :-) One other problem I haven't been able to do anything about is pitch drops during Chamber of 32 Doors and Lilywhite Lilith. These seem to occur at the same physical sections of the tape on the A & B sides, and I'm guessing that maybe the tape has been stretched in these places. By contrast, battery or voltage instabilities, or the tape grabbing, would cause pitch surges. The recording documents nearly the complete show. There is a tape flip at the beginning of 'Carpet Crawlers', and the first few seconds is missing there. But the tape runs out about a minute into 'Lamia', and only picks up again at the beginning of 'Silent Sorrow'. In both these instances, I have patched the show using excerpts from the Colston Hall, Bristol, tape of the 30th April. This recording has a similar B+ sound quality to this tape, and blends in reasonably well, although you'll notice the join on 'Lamia' if not 'Carpet Crawlers'. Finally, and you'll hear this yourself - this is a cracker show. Enjoy :-) Birmingham Hippodrome 1st May 1975 Hot on the heels of the previous two nights performances at the Colston Hall, Bristol, it was a trip north to Birmingham for the last two dates of the UK leg of the European tour. The cosy confines of the 2,000 plus seat Colston Hall was an ideal environment for the sophisticated visuals of the Lamb production, and the Birmingham Hippodrome offered a similar ideal size venue tailor-made for all to witness perhaps the most ambitious rock theatre to hit the road thus far. The band without doubt were hitting peaks with an assured strength of purpose in their playing with over 90 Lamb performances behind them at this time. The closing dates of the UK tour saw the band high on confidence and giving their best musically. I can’t emphasize enough what a joy it was to fully take in the nuances of the three screen visual production with its hundreds of myriad images flashing sometimes across all three, the occasional animation, all gloriously on view for everyone to be drawn into and fall under the spell. The opening wide-screen Manhattan dawn skyline with Tony’s piano commencing the show sent shivers down the spine in anticipation of what was to come. Those of us fortunate enough to catch earlier shows on the tour knew what to expect and it was now time to fully take in the combined musical/visual production and relive once more the Rael saga. Cuckoo Cocoon with PG lying in front of Tony’s keyboards playing flute; the swagger and dynamism of Back in NYC, including the exploding hurled Molotov; the first real gasps of the audience with the swirling Lamia guise. Highlight musically was the radical Waiting Room with the piece taking a slightly different direction each playing. This evening’s version was a gem. To add to the drama of the piece PG would appear silhouetted on the centre screen dancing grotesquely with what appeared enormous fingers almost embracing the entire stage. Stunning! Over two hours had quickly past before we are treated to the old favorites Musical Box and The Knife. Another great Lamb show and best of all, another show to look forward to the following night. The show
Well here it is, the fabled La Ferme show; renowned as both the most appalling sounding Genesis recording, and also one of the most interesting, as it is the first known live recording of the band, predating by nearly a year the next known recording. It also documents their first overseas gig.
Concerning the venue, Michel Clares Grand from Belgium has offered this background:
"La Ferme" means The Farm (like the one in Surrey...). The complete name is "La Ferme Hof ter Musschen". It is a real farm that was in function until 1960. The exact address is "Avenue Mounier n¡2, 1200 Bruxelles".
In fact Woluwe-saint-Lambert is one of the 19 townships that form the entity of Bruxelles (Brussels), the capital of Belgium. I live in Anderlecht, which is also one township among the 19, two miles away from Woluwe-saint-Lambert.
"Woluwe" is actually a small river that flows about 200 meters from the Farm. Not so long ago, the whole region around the Farm was a huge marsh. Hundreds of different kinds of birds, animals and plants lived in an incredible wild environement. Now it's just a nightmare of highways and buildings, with the Brussels International Airport a couple of miles away, and businessmen everywhere!
Everywhere except around the Farm. Thanks to the efforts of a group of people in love with the place, they forced the authorities to buy the Farm around 1970. The municipality installed his Cultural Center there, which also meant a theatre and concert room. The region around the Farm is since then a protected reserve, where wild nature is kept just as it was in the 1970's. I can tell you this, even though I was only born in 1970, because I know the people who voluntarily take care of the reserve since that period.
In fact, every first Sunday of the month, a guided visit of the Farm and the protected reserve is organised by those people. I have visited the Farm several times, and they say the place is still as it was then. The Farm nowadays has the same cultural function, but honestly, it is quite small. Therefore, only contemporary theatre takes place there.
What insight into the world of early Genesis does this tape give us? My first impression is of how good the band sound. Despite all the lad's recollections about how attrocious their equipment was, and how amateurish the performance arrangements often were, this tape documents a fine performance. Bare in mind that this was also a very new band; they had relatively recently lost Ant, one of their original inner circle, Phil had joined some 7 months previously, and Steve only debuted 2 months before. So one would expect things to still be in a settling in phase. Whilst that is evident in some aspects, such as Steve's evolving guitar lines for Twilight Alehouse, the band as a whole are cohesive and show why they turned heads, even at this early stage in their career.
What is also interesting is that the setlist is very similar to the setlists that they would still be playing a year later. Beginning with Happy the Man, going on to Stagnation, Twilight Alehouse, The Musical Box (still in its development, with the central section the same as they recorded it for the 1971 BBC session), and concluding with Knife and Going Out to Get You.
The unexpected and unique treasure on this recording is the only known recording of a performance of The Light, a Collins song which never reached the studio. Although it was dropped not long after, elements of it appeared years later incorporated in The Lamb. Instantly recognisable is the main song, the music of which became Lillywhite Lilith - even the song's title seems to anticipate Gabriel's later lyrics; "2 golden globes float into the room, and a blaze of white light, fills the air". There is also a keyboard riff in the middle which resurfaced in re-composed form in Raven, and the bass guitar intro of the song seems to be echoed in the intros to "In the Cage" and "Back in N.Y.C.".
A friend of mine recently commented on hearing this song, how in so many ways The Lamb was a conclusion for the band. With this final album they used up any remaining creative material they had still sitting around from previous years. The Gabriel-led line up had come full circle. From this perspective it is interesting to listen to the Light and the early Musical Box, and reflect on the final Lamb shows. In 1971 that short Lillywhite Lilith melody moves into a rambling composed instrumental section that threatens to loose momentum. Four years later, it is replaced with an improvised piece with far more cohesion and impact - the terrifyingly magnificent Waiting Room. And of course the whole live set is encored with a mature Musical Box that had by then established itself as a masterpiece of their repertoire.
At this time the band had only one album that represented them in any developed way - Trespass. What is interesting is that despite their need to promote the album, in this setlist they only played 2 songs off the album - Stagnation and Knife. What seems fairly evident is that they felt the need of the more dramatic musical material that songs like Going out to Get You, Twilight Alehouse and even The Light provided.
And then there are Peter's stories. Some songs, such as the Musical Box, have quite well developed stories that would change little as time went on. Other songs had no narrative at all, just amusing absurdist comments; "La lumiere, from out of the left nostril". And all told in Peter's haltingly delivered English and pigeon French. It is touching to hear him laughing self-consciously, a far cry from his austere self-confidence of later years.

The recording
Well, it's not the best is it? But it's amazing that we have it all.
The recording documents the entire concert, beginning with the local announcer, and concluding with him at the end of the Going Out to Get You encore. There are however a few inexplicable losses that are greater than one would expect with just a tape flip. The first minute of Musical Box is missing, plus the tail end of Gabriel's intro to this number. And there is a minute long chunk of Knife missing in the middle. It is possible that these occured due to taping problems at the time - perhaps the taper was just lost in the performance :-)
There are a few other small gaps; one is during the first verse of The Light, which fortunately I have been able to patch by grabbing a bit of the second verse and pasting it in. This shows that the gap was only around 1sec long, and there are a few other such gaps during the ambiences between songs that are probably of similarly short duration. In these cases I have just crossfaded the edits together.
This recording is best known from two bootlegs; 'Besides the Silent Mirror', and Highland's 'Twilight Francehouse' - a rather odd title since it comes from neither France nor the twilight of the band's career. I don't have a copy of the latter, so can only comment on BtSM. I understand that the source I've used is two generations closer to the master than that used for BtSM. The hiss on this bootleg is quite prominent in the midrange, and would be a lot more noticable if it were not for the savage frequency roll-off that has been used above around 3KHz.
BtSM misses the Belgian announcer's intro, and begins with the applause that greets the band onstage. Otherwise it is complete, and shows the gaps and edits present on the master tape. Beyond the missing top end, and a very boxy and bass-thin sound, it is a fair representation of the original tape, although it is pitched slightly sharp, and has a few unexplained volume drops, noticably on the concluding chord of Knife.

The restoration
I began with a transcription CDR from a low (reputedly first) gen copy of the tape. Running a spectragram of the recording showed that this source had a severe drop off in information above 4KHz, with cymbals and tamborine slaps appearing around the 6-7KHz mark. The 3KHz roll off on BtSM explains why hardly any cymbals can be heard on that version.
As anyone who knows this recording is aware, the hiss threatens to dominate the music throughout. It sounds distant, tinny, and hissy as hell. So dragging any information out of this sea of murk has not been easy. At first I was dubious I could improve it at all.
If you are listening to this Hogweed 12, and thinking, its still pretty hissy - well, it is. However it could have been a lot worse. I have taken 9Db of hiss out of the recording. To get an idea of how much that is, imagine 3 times as much hiss *relative to the musical information*. Another way of thinking of it is that if the hiss sounds comparable to BtSM, you are actually hearing 3 times the musical information for the same noise floor. Could I have taken more hiss out? I tried; it started to break up badly and loose what subtle musical information remained. It started to sound empty and lacking ambience. I chose to keep as much of the music as I could. So enjoy what hiss remains, its part of the history :-)
This recording also has a prominent microphone resonance around 2.5KHz - during the louder sections of songs like Twilight Alehouse you can hear this as a continuous ring, almost like a distorted feedback. I have attenuated this peak by 8Db, which is a lot, but as much as I could while avoiding a frequency hole.
The tape also has numerous electrical clicks, particularly during the first few songs. On BtSM these clicks (plus others in one channel only, which have been introduced later) have hissy surges around them, suggesting that a dolby decode may have been employed on that version. I have removed these.
There are also quite a few microphone bumps, fortunately occuring mostly during the ambience between songs. I have endeavoured to attenuate or remove as many of these as possible. There were a few that were much more difficult though, such as the one that occurs just into the beginning of Stagnation. This bump caused the auto record levels to drop the music volume noticably, which I've compensated for without having the hiss levels suddenly surge.
Because auto record levels were used on this one, the volumes do fluctuate a bit, rising noticably during the quiet bits. I could have restored the dynamics as I have on previous shows. But on this one, the amount of hiss would have made such changes distractingly noticable, so I have left them as they were recorded. More history.
Finally, there are several occasions when a hum of around 150Hz is heard. I am pretty convinced that this is a feedback from the stage, although whether acoustic or electrical, I can't tell. There is also a 250Hz harmonic as well, indicating that it originates with 50Hz mains power. So it is probably authentic, but it sounds aweful, and makes a few nice passages of music, particularly during a quieter section of The Light, sound very un-tuneful. So I've zapped it. Sorry all you purists and stage feedback afficianados, but as this is the only version of The Light that we know of, the least I can do is make it sound a bit more musical. If you want to hear the hum, listen to to BtSM.
So that is it. I fully expect that some newer listeners to Genesis's live legacy may think I've lost my marbles releasing this sorry excuse for a recording. I hope those who are familiar with the show will find it an improvement - as one of my 'auditioning commitee' commented, at least it is now listenable, which is better than previously. And I hope you enjoy hearing Genesis in their adolescence, especially The Light, although heard somewhat dimly through the years.

Sound editor's notes from Andrew Skeoch
The show
This is the 'Thanksgiving Day' show - well known both for the number of bootleg incarnations it has received over the years, and for Gabriel appearing on stage in feathers. Well, we assume that he was wearing some kind of feathery attire by his banter; "what on earth are you doing sitting in the Felt Forum looking at a strange spectacle with feathers on Thanksgiving Day." We wouldn't put it past him of course...
This was the third time Genesis had visited the states, but their first US Selling England tour which culminated in 6 legendary shows at the Roxy in LA just before Christmas. From the account of their new manager at the time, Tony Stratton Smith, it seems as though the band were in a state of organisational chaos behind the scenes, but sublime on stage. They returned the next year of course for a longer tour, covering many of the same cities, though often at different venues.
This mono audience recording documents almost the entire concert, the highlight of which is an encore of The Knife. The band must have been in high spirits, as they usually chose not to play any encores after what they saw as their ultimate closer - Suppers Ready. The only significant omission on the tape is the last few bars of Epping Forest.
This recording has been known to Genesis fans for a long time, appearing during the late 70s as a double vinyl set on the ubiquitous TAKRL label as 'A Death in Anytown'. The sound quality was not remarkable (typically), but what was notable about this release was the re-arangement of the running order of the first part of the concert; Watcher, Firth, Musical Box, Moonlit Knight, Cinema Show-IKWIL... presumably to accomodate to the playing sides of an LP. There was a low generation tape made at this time which, reputation has it, was the master source for this LP. It was then copied and traded as such, and a descendent of this tape was the source for Highland's CD 'Romeo Show' release, thus perpetuating the wrong running order.

The sources
Because this show has been known and traded for so many decades, tracking down a close-to-master source has been an interesting exercise. Thankfully, I have had several cassettes and CDRs sent to me to compare, but the most interesting of these come down to;
Low generation cassette, 'NY1': This is a tape from the 70s, offered to me by a long time trader from New York, and which was reputedly used as the master tape for 'Death in Anytown'. It is edited in the modified running order, and initially sounded very good, bright and clear. However closer listening revealed two main problems. Firstly, it sounds as though the brightness of the recording has been obtained by filtering, my guess is that it was run through one of those graphic equalisers that were so popular in the 70s (remember them?). The frequency spectrum is bright to the point of distortion around 2-8KHz, and then dies completely above that, while the bass is very weak throughout. The second matter is dropouts - the whole tape has a bubbly, rough quality that is unpleasant to listen to. Lastly, due to the re-editing, there are sections between tracks missing, sometimes just a second, but up to 20secs.

Low generation cassette, 'NY2': In the right running order and complete, but down a few generations (4th?), and quite hissy, so hence not a real contender.
Low generation CDR, '2gCD': This is a very good source, and has been traded among dedicated collectors as the best that has come to light to date. It is believed to come from cassette tapes that were made from a reel-to-reel copy of the master, so that would make it a 2nd generation source. This source is complete, in the right running order, and has bright trebles and full bass. The only thing against this one is that the hiss is very prominent, due to the eq boost necessary to bring out the top end. I understand this is the source that has been used to remaster for BURP 06. It would have been my prefered source (and thus made me doubt the worth of approaching another remaster of this show when a good one was already circulating), until...
2nd generation cassette 'KL': With great thanks to Ken Langford, who organised for this tape to be transfered and sent me. The tape is owned by Troler Wes, and the A-D transfer by Park. This new tape was offered as a first generation, but I suspect the taper made a reel-to-reel duplicating copy to trade with in the 70s, and so I think it is safer to suugest it is most likely also a 2nd generation. On first listening I was a bit disappointed by this promising new source, it sounded muffled and thick, although the bass is full and rich. It is however complete and in the correct running order, and is an authentic copy of the original recording. Further listening reveals it to be rich and smooth, lacking the bright fizziness and bubbly textures of other sources, and also the dropouts that I had come to believe were intrinsic to the master source of this recording, as one hears them on all copies. This leads me to conclude it may come from a different lineage to other sources, and I have chosen it as the basis of this remaster.
And so, to the contents of the recording... Cassette copies, at least those in the correct running order, likely duplicate the master tapes by being 45 min each on C90 tapes. The recording begins by dropping into the first chord of Watcher. There is a break just before the beginning of Firth of Fifth (the tape picks up so close to the first chord that it is not clear whether Tony's piano intro is missing or was not played, but I think the latter), and another between the final bars of Epping Forest and the intro to Supper's Ready. The recording seems to end with only a few seconds of audience applause after Knife.

The restoration
This has been the biggest restoration job for a Hogweed release yet....
To begin I corrected the pitching, which descends very slightly throughout the recording. Watcher was about a quarter-tone sharp, but by Suppers Ready it was a quarter tone flat. Unusual, as fading batteries during the concert would have caused the tone to rise.
Next a general frequency equalisation to bring out the upper mids and highs, tone down the strong lower midrange, and balance the bass. Each of the three sides of this source are quite different in tonal character. Side 1 is quite bright, clear and rich. Side 2 is bright and bassy, but lacking midrange and presence, and has a noticable sibilant distortion in the treble which seems to be of mechanical origin. Side 3 is thin, lacking the fullness of bass on the first 2 sides, and is not quite as extended in the top end either, but is otherwise clear, presenceful and undistorted. I've done my best to bring all three parts to one common tonal balance.
As the hiss on this recording is so prominent, I have chosen to make the music more transparent by utilising a small amount of noise reduction. I have only denoised the hiss by 5Db, down to about 3KHz, so the mids and lows are unaffected and remain warm and natural. I have undertaken this with considerable care - there were over 300 edits to complete the noise reduction process alone, some of them short enough to get just a few of Phil's cymbal taps clean!
It is worth noting that as well as music, there are a number of serious problems hidden by the hiss on this recording, and in bringing out the music, I have often had to work around such artifacts as flairs of hiss and distortion. Loud midrange - Gabriel in full voice, Hackett soloing - would cause a flair of noise in the top end previously masked by hiss. Each of these had to be seperately denoised at a higher threshold than the average hiss levels, and there were a LOT of them!
I have then cleaned up the bass, which to my ears has made a huge improvement on the listenability of this show. Firstly there was a variable 60Hz hum throughout this recording. During the louder passages it is unnoticable, but in the quieter sections it clashed with the tonality of the music, so I have removed it there. Rumble below 100Hz was also present during many of the quieter intros and musical passages, and I have dropped that off where audable. Lastly there were many loud bumps and clicks from various sources, not only mic bumps at the concert, but electrical interference pops later - maybe someone turned on the toaster while the master tape was being copied, as these pops are on all versions.
The volume dynamics of the recording are quite good, despite the recorder having auto record levels. Where these have caused noticable volume anomalies (intro Cinema Show, Musical Box, More Fool Me), or where the microphone has not picked up the music as well as usual, I have restored them to what seems appropriate. There were a few moments when bass overload distortion was prominent (first bass drum of Watcher, another few during IKWIL), and I've managed to replace these distorts with cleaner 'thumps' from Phil.
I have edited the recording with a few minor 'fix ups' - not authentic to the tape perhaps, but to restore a listening continuity to the concert. The first chord of Watcher has been patched with the third, and a little audience ambience to lead us into the recording. The first note of Horizons was cut, and once again I've found a similar note a few bars later and spliced it in. The most significant patch is the final one minute of Epping Forest, edited in from the Medford concert given a few days earlier on the 17th. I feel that all these edits are minimal, and that hearing the concert as it may have been is more relevant than knowing when the taper stopped and started.
Lastly, I've added some early reflections to open up the spacialisation of the recording, and a very small amount of reverb to match the hall ambience, both nice if you're listening on headphones.
Enjoy!

Ray Charles: Pasadena 2002 (VG- Aud) FLAC

just recently circulated
Copy of CatChow062711
Pasadena,CA Central Park
Verizon Festival 2002-10-06

D3 Cassette Master -> Untracked Aiff File -> Soundforge -> FLAC
recording is a little distant and hissy. There are several loud claps throughout but it is still a very listenable (and very rare) recording of the Genius.

OU notes: First off a big thanks to Roughcut for giving us this 3rd recorder from his 1st gen tapes. I took the liberty after listening to this to fix it up for myself and figured I'd share my little bit of work. For those of you that don't know, this tape ran a little slow and had tape flips and a few other anomolies. All I did to this was a minor speed/pitch correction which I think turned out very good and I re-indexed it. There were also a couple of tape flips that I was able to repair in a way where the music is seemless even though the sound quality changes a little bit due to the flip.
Overall I am very happy with the outcome and it's much more fluent to listen to and hopefully you will think so as well. Absolutely no music is lost here. The fades between some tracks was a result of the taper doing this when he made Roughcut's 1st gens.
I did not want to get into a discussion about the validity of Echoes being from this date, the 12th, or from some completely other date. I will say that all of this recorder ran slow at the same amount but Echoes seemed to be perfect speed and pitch the way it was, I did nothing to it. Take that bit of info and do with it what you will.

iHeartRadio Music Festival: Las Vegas 2011 (VG/VG+ Aud) FLAC

Black Eyed Peas, Kelly Clarkson, Bruno Mars, Alicia Keys, Jay-Z, Carrie Underwood, Coldplay, Jane's Addiction, Karmin
iheart-radio-festival-tickets
Day 1
MGM Garden Arena -MGM Grand Hotel
Las Vegas, NV [USA] 2011- September23
Recorder: UNIVONC

OU Notes: Attended a medical meeting and had the opportunity to go to the show. The event was really wonderful.
As usual with any event that involved pop stars involves young people, screaming and talking.
It is noticable in some parts but not too distracting.
I felt Coldplay and Brunoi Mars were the highlights of the night. The crowd went crazy over Jay-Z.
My recorder, for some unknown reason, stopped recording midway through Jay-Z's set (I recorded about 3-4 songs of his set).
First song of Kelly Clarkson's was cut due to a serious need for a bathroom break. Otherwise complete concert. Feel free to share, convert and remaster to your liking. Do NOT sell! I hope you enjoy. Bill

The Jimi Hendrix Experience: Offenbach 1967 (2011 Rebroadcast!) DVD

actual capture
vlcsnap-2010-09-20-13h16m20s30
Beat Beat Beat
Stadthalle, Offenbach, Germany
18 May 1967
Sky Arts 1 Brodcast xx July 2011

Sky Arts 1 DVB-C>Philips stand alone DVD rec>Menu, chapters & burned using MMEP.

Setlist:
01 - Titles
02 - Stone Free (incomplete)
03 - Hey Joe
03 - Purple Haze
Run time: 00:10:33

Note: The Sky Arts 1 programme only included "Hey Joe & Purple Haze". "Stone Free" which is incomplete (fades out after the guitar solo) is from another source (BP. April 2006)
I did put that version up at Crosstown Torrents quite a while ago. This represents the best version I have seen of this set.
ps. on BP's original notes state the venue as "Stadthalle, Offenbach, Germany - 1967-05-18". The end credits on the Sky Arts version state "HR-Studios, Frankfurt - 1969-05-29.
According to "Electric Gypsy" the Stadthalle, Offenbach on the 18th May is the correct venue & date. On the 29th May 1967 the Experience were playing "Baroque '67" at the Tulip Bulb Auction Hall, Spalding, Lincolnshire, England.

Tapers Notes: It's been awhile since Don Henley came back to his home town, as he now lives in Austin, Texas. This is a 17 pc band with a 7 piece horn section, 2 stunning backup singers, and his rock band. There were no introductions, so I don't know who is playing. The show had two encores, a total of 30 minutes past curfew, which at The Greek costs the band somewhere in the vicinity of $10-20,000 so I think its a safe bet that Don was having fun for this homecoming. Somebody help me out with the names of his band members, especially those two hot singers.
The crowd noise was oppressive. I sat next to a couple who were obviously on a first date and just never shut up. I learned about her bad break up, her conflict with her sister, and his last cheating girlfriend. Personally, I felt he did not play the vulnerability card very well and probably did not get laid that night.
Therefore, I "cut" the audience tape with a slice of the soundboard, captured from an ALD, mixed in post mastering.

OU: here's what I once wrote about my first ever live-recording:
Master audience recording incl. artwork and scan of my ticket
This concert I taped so many years ago I can't remember what equipment I used. I remember it was a big recorder with an included microphone. I layed the recorder on the ground of the stadium right inside the middle of the arena about 20 meters from the stage.
All the people around were sitting down those days.
The sound quality is o.k. for hardcore fans, a bit much bass. I think it is for fans only or those who collect everything. You cannot hear much of the audience, only the people sitting around the recorder. They were shouting after each song, I think including me.
I remember this concert as one of the best in my life if I see it from the point of how I enjoyed it when I was there. Today...hmmm??? This is definitive not the music I prefer now.
The master tapes survived a small fire at my parents home when our living room burned a bit and the tape-recorder stood in a corner with the master of this day inside. So, this is hard luck for you Genesis-freaks out there that this still exists!!!

Disc 01
01 Squonk
02 One for the vine
03 Firth of Fifth
04 Carpet Crawl
05 Unquiet slumber for the sleepers.. in that quiet earth
06 Afterglow

Disc 02
01 I know what I like in your wardrobe
02 Supper's ready
03 Dance on a volcano
04 Los endos
05 The lamb lies down on Broadway
06 The musical box (Closing section)

Keep in mind that this is really old and what a lot of trouble it was taping concerts in those analog days. Do not sell. For trading only. ...and perhaps for fun!!??

Brad Paisley: Fort Worth 1999 (Soundboard) FLAC

reupped and expanded access by request
Brad_Paisley300-708343
Billy Bob's
Fort Worth, TX
1999-12-18
Lineage: Soundboard > digital recorder > ? > CD > xACT > flac.

This is not the whole show, but what is here is purty good! There's very little BP out in BT land as it is and this is an early gem. This is right after his first rekkid "Who Needs Pictures" broke and he was touring in support of it while working on Part II. You get to hear how the audience loves him and his banter with the audience shows his great sense of humor and personality. He seems very genuine... not to mention that he's probably one of the best Tele pickers out there right now. Brad uses some Dr. Z Amps in his arsenal for you gear heads.

01 Pancho and Lefty
02 Long Sermon
03 Sleepin' On The Foldout
04 Holdin' Onto You
05 Medley - King of the Road > Act Naturally > Mama Tried > That Wasn't My Chair After All >
06 Lonely Woman Make Good Lovers >
07 Lookin' At The World Through A Windshield
08 (Talking) It Never Would Have Worked Out Anyways
09 Nervous Breakdown
10 Bartender Blues
11 Another You
12 (Talking) Part Two
13 Who Needs Pictures
14 I'm Gonna Miss Her
15 (Talking) Me Neither

addition to original info file: original upload had gaps, silence at the beginning and end of each track used Sound Forge 8 to remove silences, then converted .wav files: FLAC level 8 encoding align on sector boundaries. Not burned to cdr - no EAC

OU notes: SHELTER-National Campaign for the Homeless benefit
this comes more or less from the same source used by HRV for Supine In The Sunshine, though this RoIO release was mastered differently, the volume is lower but sounds a bit smoother to me (no levels were boosted).
it has some little portions more too.
the recorder is the same of course.

review from hokafloyd: This was one of two benefit concerts played in London between the two North American tours of the year and the performance is of the usual caliber for this era. ‘Obscured by Clouds’ and ‘When You’re In’ both feature a good deal of keyboard and slide guitar soloing in these expanded live versions. Later Waters lets loose an ear-shattering scream in ‘Careful with that Axe, Eugene’—one of the most powerful and menacing ones you’ll ever hear. The rest of the show is strong and typical for mid-1973, save Wright and Gilmour singing different lines at the same time during ‘Us and Them.’
A saxophone player (probably Dick Parry, who appeared on The Dark Side of the Moon) is now a regular part of the lineup.
