Kiss first tour of Japan consisted of ten concerts in five cities, the highlight being an incredible three night run at the Budokan in Tokyo one of which was filmed and broadcast on HBO. The recording featured in this Tarantura release is from the third date on the tour in Kyoto. Kyoto Kaikan Hall a theatre that held an intimate audience of 2,500 people. The source for the recording comes from the vast Mr Peach archives and is of very good sound quality, very little audience interference with a nice balance of instruments.
The concert itself showcases the band in top form playing a fast paced concert featuring a strong set list consisting of four new songs with the klassics mixed in. Starting with “Alright Kyoto, you wanted the best and you got them, the hottest band in the world KISS !”
The band rips into probably their best opener, Detroit Rock City that leads directly into Take Me, the first new song of the night. Paul has a brief hello to Kyoto and the band goes directly into a smokin version of Let Me Go Rock ‘N’ Roll, the playing really tight and Ace has a great solo. After the seconds new song, Ladies Room, the audience is in the bands hands and they deliver with Firehouse.
A set highlight, the band are again firing on all cylinders, towards the end of the songs during the siren wail you can hear the crowd roar their approval of Gene’s fire breathing. Back to business the band goes for the one two punch of I want you and Makin Love, the former featuring a great audience participation with Paul and the crowd singing I want you, Paul literally sings his head off, good stuff. The now tradition introduction to Cold Gin has a twist, the Japanese audience shouting Cold Gin is really kool and the band play a tight version that leads into a great Ace solo.
His playing is very fluent, the crowd is quiet and seem to listen (and watch) intently as he wrings a flurry of notes from his Les Paul. God of Thunder features the second vehicle for solo’s featuring both Gene and his blood spitting and Peter Criss’ who starts his solo to the rapture of applause.
The song itself is probably the heaviest and most demonic sounding in their entire catalog and translates well to the concert stage. The band brings the house down with Rock N Roll All Nite and Shout It Out Loud but the song that gets the loudest applause is the ballad from the Destroyer record, Beth. The crowd cheer throughout but because of the recorder positioning it only adds to the ambiance of the recording.
The Obligatory finally is of course Black Diamond and it does not fail to deliver, the crowd is following the band at every note and show their enthusiasm by clapping and cheering at Paul’s solo guitar intro. An excellent end to an excellent concert, the band are obviously inspired by the response of the fans and give their all, a full show in 77 minutes with not a lull in the whole set.
The packaging is a single sleeve beautifully adorned with photos of the band in kimonos that were well featured in the Japanese music magazines with a very dramatic on the back featuring Gene in a black Kimono with red trim in full costume striking the pose with his dragon boots in front of a temple with a huge Buda on the top.
There is a full color 9 1/2″ X 14″ poster of band live with a photo of the master tapes at the bottom, a very klassy production by Tarantura. For the KISS fan this is a highly recommended title, again kudos must go out to Mr Peach. His incredible archive has given collectors quality recordings of a diverse number of bands at the highest peak. Hopefully the new years brings more of his incredible recordings.

Kiss: Baton Rouge 1974 (VG+ Aud) FLAC

KISS tour - Baton Rouge 74.07.16
Baton Rouge, LA - Independence Hall - July 16, 1974

Lineage: Mastertape -> DAT -> Cd-r -> Rip and adding of last section -> FLAC
Length: 32 min.
Source: Audience recording, possibly master tape but extremely low gen to the very least!
Quality: B

notes from the original uploader: A couple of years back I traded with a very nice and most importantly serious trader in the California-area. He had no special interest in KISS but told me he had contact with the guy who claimed to have taped Baton Rouge 1974 and naturally asked me if I was interested in a copy. You friggin believe I was! I got the disc and whether it´s a master or not I will leave for you to decide, the only thing I can say is that it´s the clearest copy if the show I have ever heard. You can hear the taper moving around and if you close your eyes you follow him about in the venue with the changing sound following Very nice copy, very nice ambience and a good KISS-show from 1974.
The only thing about the disc was that it missed the last 38 seconds or so of the Black Diamond-ending which I took from my old copy to make a complete show. Hence the quality is slightly worse during that last part.
And this is an audience recording, despite what many have claimed over the years.

1. Intro
2. Deuce
3. Strutter
4. She
5. Firehouse

Kiss: Ipswich 1984 (FM) FLAC

live Ipswich Gaumont 11-10-84

Transfer direct from FM master tape (original broadcast recording made 4/1/85 onto Sony BHF 90 cassette tape)> Ion Tape 2 PC>Audacity 1.3>Wav (16 bit)> FLAC (SBE corrected via Trader's Little Helper) FLAC encoded level 6
OU: Great set from the 'Animalize' tour-the usual nonsense involved (e.g. the 'women around here are like submarines' spiel- very silly), but this features some entertaining old songs- e.g. 'I Still Love You' etc.
Transfer came out well- superb sound.
This brought back some good memories of seeing them at Southampton Gaumont on the same tour.

Dan Lampinski recorded over 100 concerts in the Providence/Boston area, mostly between 1974 and 1978. His earliest recordings were made with an internal microphone deck, and though they are somewhat lo-fi compared to his later work, some very great moments in rock history were captured for posterity. In late 1974 he bought a Sony TC-152SD tape recorder, a Sony ECM-99 stereo microphone, and began using Maxell cassettes. He was also fortunate enough to have a friend who provided excellent taping seats for many shows, resulting in high quality recordings. In 1977, he switched over to a Nakamichi 550 tape recorder, two Nakamichi CM-300 microphones, and continued using Maxell cassettes.
He recorded many of the major 70's bands: Yes, Genesis, Pink Floyd, Queen, Blue Oyster Cult, Frank Zappa, Jethro Tull, ELP, Kiss, Black Sabbath, The Who, Al Stewart, Alice Cooper, Jeff Beck, Bruce Springsteen, Supertramp, Jean-Luc Ponty, Moody Blues, Neil Young, The Faces, Rush, Rick Wakeman, Kansas, as well as several "under the radar" acts.
Since Dan never traded copies of his recordings, they are all essentially uncirculated. Some copies were made for friends, but these releases are the first time most of these recordings have ever seen the light of day, and are direct from his master cassettes. No EQ'ing has been done to any of the transfers. Feel free to EQ, matrix, patch, etc and re-post if you like, just give Dan credit for the original recording.
Dan was very meticulous about taking good care of his tapes and is very pleased that these recordings will now circulate among the trading community. Please honour his kindness and generosity by sharing these recordings freely.
Always remember - the more generous you are with your music, the more it comes back to you.

As bootlegs go, this one is slightly above average (B - B+). It's one of those discs that you have to listen to for a few minutes for you ears to adjust to the less than perfect sound. The music is probably a sound board recording as the music and vocals are clear and there is barely any crowd noise at all, which actually sounds a bit weird. It's funny hearing Paul talk to the crowd without a response, especially knowing that KISS were at a popularity high during this tour. The selection of music is very good and the performance isn't bad, although it's discs like this that make it painfully obvious how much studio work was done on Alive and Alive II to make them sound superior. Just from the sound of the vocals alone, you can tell that they band was putting on one hell of a show.

Kiss: The Lost Alive II Album 1977 (upgrade)

Free Image Hosting at allyoucanupload.com
Free Image Hosting at allyoucanupload.com

One of the best bootlegs available! Professionally recorded, readily mixed and mastered the material was obviously planned as the official ALIVE II release. The project was then cancelled and one year later the well-known studio-polished ALIVE II album was released.
Hearing the original recordings one can say, that most of the stuff on ALIVE II are overdubs layed down in the studio. Songs on this boot are way rougher and more kick-ass versions than on the "commercialized" official version.
Recordings were done at Tokyo's Budo Kan Hall during the 1977 Tour. Studio songs from side four are alternative versions or different mixes. This "album" was originally called Rock and Roll Party in Tokyo and was planned for Japan-only release. It was probbaly scrapped for lack of enough new material.

Kiss: Alive III Uncut House Feed (FLAC)

Free Image Hosting at allyoucanupload.com

Hello all, This is the "uncut" complete house feed show from the Palace Of Auburn Hills on the night they recorded part of Alive III. I truly enjoyed this show because at the end they let off probably the most pyro I had even seen, and I started seeing Kiss back in 1976.The funiest part was during "Domino" Gene does his little rap in the middle and says "Looky, Looky, there's tits over there". I also noticed that Paul used alot more profanity than I had ever heard him say as well.If you listen carefully like most soundboard/house feeds, you can hear adjustments being made during the show (especially the 1st song) and at other times where mics would not be turned on(Gene or Paul switching mics,or singing into one they were not expecting them too). Great all around show.
