OU: A low known generation nice copy that I believe upgrades most commonly circulating versions. A diamond in the rough. It's not hi-fi, but it's The Move! Small splice right at the end of track 2.

Recording Information ::: unknown mono equipment -> master audience tape -> 1st generation tape -> 2nd generation Maxell XLIIS-90 cassette, Dolby B on.

Thanks to the original taper & traders! Corrections welcome. This one goes out the beatrocker in Sexau, Bill "Cod" Tobin & a couple of Dimers who wondered if there was any Move in my closet. The Move pack a punch here. Fantasically heavy with lots of over the top guitar work complex arrangements on Brontosaurus. "Looking On" is my fave Move album, so the time is right for me. Apparently one of only four Move gigs that year. I know there are some boots around, but I think this may well upgrade some of the circulating copies. More recordings on the way now that I am able to make up for years of slow netspeed.
Kudos to: Zongo for life support & Lochner for microphones & much more. A bow to Fast Freddie for running Video Dick's Record Emporium with the bathroom office full of tape decks. Thanks to Hanwaker (few among us can keep his pace) for over 30 years of trading & friendship. “This quasi-legal compilation of 26 BBC performances from the late 1960s, in reasonable to excellent fidelity, shows The Move's astonishing versatility and range of influences. Ten of these are live-in-the-studio run-throughs of original material, including most of their early British hits – ‘Night of Fear’, ‘Fire Brigade’, ‘Flowers in the Rain’, ‘I Can Hear the Grass Grow’ and ‘Blackberry Way’. More interesting from a historical perspective are the 16 covers, showing an eclectic range that must have been the equal of any major group of the time – The Byrds, Simon & Garfunkel, Tim Rose, Love, Jerry Lee Lewis, Eddie Cochran, Neil Diamond, Jackie Wilson, Janis Joplin, Johnny Cash, Moby Grape and The Beach Boys all come in for The Move's accomplished chunky rock, harmony-laden treatment. The covers of The Byrds' ‘Goin' Back’ and Paul Simon's ‘Sounds of Silence’ are particularly nifty. It's not recommended to anyone except serious fans, but that small audience could hardly wish for a better collection of rarities from the group's salad days.

EXCELLENT QUALITY SOUNDBOARD RECORDING
This performance by The Move is the second of two nights played at the Fillmore West during October 1969. First up is a song not recorded by The Move followed by a song Roy Wood originally wrote for Amen Corner and was later recorded by The Move on their Shazam album. Third up is another unrecorded song followed by an amazing version of the song Cherry Blossom Clinic Revisited. A really great performance recorded just before Carl Wayne left the band. Enjoy.
