OU: After much controversy over this show, decided to finally release a full mix. Easily the best show of the bunch that I saw. Band was very hot, shook up the setlist (and found a new groove for the tour).
Did some tricks to minimize the click, but still there slightly. There's no helping the counts though, just get used to them after a while. Sounds a bit better than Denver IMO, but in general fairly similar sounding.
U2 IEMs are not for everyone. If you can't stand the clicks/counts...then rock out to the audience sources. If you have issues with the mix, there is a quite nice raw Bono mix (with some remastering applied to it) released by our U2 friend Nuno. This mix will sound significantly different than his recording.
During the show, I was hoping that One would lead right into Ultraviolet, but alas they like that too much in the encore (and the One > Streets transition).
Please don't sell this recording in any way - no cash for blanks, 2:1s, or any other form of "getting paid for your time". Just share it freely.
Please do not attempt to remaster/remix this recording and spread it around. There is little to no point of trying to compete with the original processing. It just creates problems with conflicting effects and processing errors. If you need to re-eq it for your own listening pleasure, that's fine, just don't spread it around.

- A few radio station ID's here and there, none were removed, transfer was only slightly equalized.
- There is some tape degradation on "Get On Your Boots" during 2 seconds (that's, kids, why you should always use new tapes to record ...)
- A few seconds were lost in a tape swap at the end of Walk-On, the taper switched taped during a jingle when there was still music afterwards.
- Transfer was done azimuth corrected at 24/96; still the broadcast have some echo and Bono's voice isn't very powerful on the recording.
- Broadcasted live on 94.5 KFM. Recording was done in mono (or broadcasted in false stereo at least).

OU Comments: We lined up for this concert in the day of the concert around 8:00 in the morning to be as close as we could. After the gates opened at 5 in the afternoon, we ran fast to get inside the circle. We ended up right in front of Bono (3 meters away).
This was one of the best concerts that we saw in Europe. The crowd was really into it, and "Spanish Eyes" sounded really great after the last time it was played (9 years ago in Barcelona during the Elevtion Tour). Through this show other songs sounded really good too, Mercy, MLK, With Or Without You, Moment of Surrender , etc, a truly musical journey as someone said awhile ago :)
This recording is 99% without drops, it's almost a clean recording and a pleasure to listen to. The instruments and voice are almost like a soundboard, Edge's guitar is just awesome. You'll really feel "closer" to the band.

OU: A pretty good recording of a good show from U2. Of course, that is just my opinion. Had an extra ticket due to a friend not being able to go. There was a glut of extra tickets at the show. A scalper told me that they couldn't give them away. So I went up to a group of students and did exactly that. Congrats to Scott who got to see his first U2 show for free. With a $252 ticket at that. If the tracking is a little off, give me a break. I've been up for 25 hours, and I'm tired. Dedicated to Richard and Mark who both wanted to go but couldn't, and to Scott who did go.
Do with this recording as you will, because you will anyways.

OU: Well, my first U2 concert and it's the one where Bono had voice problems. The concert was Ok en I think Bono was really pissed off when his voice let him down. The two other additional shows (19th & 20th Dec) were also cancelled and the band announced 4 new shows after the new year in Rotterdam. The concert organisator (Mojo) said to keep the tickets for a new show, but that was not the case.
Well if you had tickets for the cancelled show of the 19th Dec 1989, you could changed it for the 5th or 6th of Jan 1990. If you had tickets for the 20th, you could change it for the 9th or 10th Jan 1990. The ticket holders who attended the original 1st show (Dec 18th) were not able to get any tickets. But later the stage could move more to the back, a few 2000 tickets came available over the 4 nights. So that was a lottery and the people who were left out got their money back. So I got my money back but luckly I obtained tickets for the 1st show in R'dam via an advert in the newspaper.

Soundboard -> CDR -> EAC -> WAV -> FLAC Level 6
Now the source. It's exactly what DSBD's sound like; clear, clean and razor thin. Actually, it's so clean that I hear a slight sizzle in some of the passages, nearly on the verge of breaking up, but never does. And there was no beef to speak of, none at all.
So it got hammered, 13 style. Compression, Q'ing, width, depth, maximization.
(Blip at 1:11 in Track 12 was fixed.)
