Ever since Stoner HiVe started in 2009 the amount of great releases in our little Heavy Underground niche is stunning. For even though you can peruse my Personal Top 20 here… There are many more albums that I thoroughly loved! Soon, a lot of Personal Top 20 lists of all the Contributors will appear on the Doom Charts Page. And will share mine there as well. Here, it’s just the list. But I’m still honored to call them part of Stoner HiVe. Before we get going with the Personal lists… We want to share the list of Most Scrobbled Artists of 2022... Cause yes, we still scrobble, we scrobble the shit out of a lot of stuff. And this list of scrobbles, is a list of scrobbles that does not include Youtube, Soundcloud, Spotify or Bandcamp. All of which we also use. Spotify very very little.  Youtube and Soundcloud a bit… And Bandcamp quite a lot. We love Bandcamp! But, this here is a list of most scrobbled artists as scrobbled by a media player. Simply because of digital promos sent and digital albums bought and downloaded. So, this isn’t the amount of vinyl listened or cd’s played. Nor is it the amount of listening sessions while on the road to nowhere in particular or something very particular. One final post about the Stoner HiVe Top 20 Countdown of 2022, before we post the Personal lists. As some of you might know, those crazy few that have been around and following the Countdown since the early days, we used to be able to do a Red Lantern post about the albums from the year that passed.

It entailed the album or albums that got voted for once; and only once and only on the 20th position of a sent in list. But that hasn’t been possible every year. Due to the fact that not every lists has 20 albums on it. Some have less some have more. And for some reason, every one of those lists sent in, with exactly 20 albums on it, had an album on that 20th position, which got voted for more times. So, since we wish to mention a few of those albums that had a very limited amount of votes, we invented the Bottom Dwellers post. Albums that ended up at the very bottom of the list. Which means they were still damn freaking good! Cause they got voted for! The amount of heavy music albums released this year is staggering, and of those thousands of albums, 620 albums received votes for the Stoner HiVe Top 20 Countdown of 2022. That means they are loved a lot! And there is so much more out there, waiting to be discovered… Which we shall continue to do! Damn, how we love this heavy stuff! And that is why we do this thing and this post… Only one of the ten got mentioned on the HiVe before… Go check out the Bottom Dwellers 10 from 2022!
