Good morning! A new week is once again upon us, a week that will see the April Doom Charts go live. Did you manage to be a part of the Doom Charts Friday Freebie madness? Free codes were strewn like confetti last Friday. Hope you caught something. There were definitely some posts last week. Jon McGough came out swinging with a brilliant write-up about a brilliant album called Lifted From The Wind by Temple Fang. We wrote about Thammuz, Motorpsycho, Ghost, Tier, Void King and put up songs or videos by Museums, Lorquin’s Admiral, Sour Blood and Dozer. We were honored to bring you the FULL ALBUM PREMIERE for Void Kings’ The Hidden Hymnal: Chapter 2 and extremely grateful to receive a gift from the Grey Czar guys. Euarthropodia on Orange vinyl, and I have thing for Orange vinyl.. Marvelous! A week that in review looks busy enough. Well, let’s hope for a similar one this week. We’ll see, cause we still have some big stuff to finish up as well…

Morning! Hope everyone will have a great week. This is the Monday that starts a new week at home after that wonderful small vacation in the Austrian mountains. So this glance back and Most Listened Albums List is actually glancing back at last week and the week before. Cause, last Monday we were shooting down the slopes in grand fashion. Two weeks of posts takes us back to the Badlands Festival announcement, the FULL ALBUM PREMIERE for Drunken Crocodiles, a Jesse Stilettö write-up, words for Torpedo Torpedo, the mention of that wild live session on KEXP by Travo and the new Deafheaven. We’re back from Austria! And once again, not in one piece! But not that badly hurt… Just a minor concussion, sustained on the final day. So, we had great fun and much better snow conditions and weather than expected. It was glorious! Now, only some 250 emails for Stoner HiVe to go through and a huge bunch for all the other accounts as well. But we will be in full HiVe mode soon enough! If the headache does not become worse… What a glorious April 25th it will be! Cause, we just spun, the new Miss Lava, out on Small Stone Records, April 25th. Spinning now: the new Temple Fang, out on Stickman Records April 25th.  And after that? You tell me!

As soon as the promo entered our inbox back in early December we started spinning the shit out of this album. It was in fact one of our very favorite albums during this first month of 2021. Fast paced, heavy truckin! We’re talking about the new album Doom Machine by Lisbon quartet Miss Lava, which, as we already mentioned on the Doom Charts, has very little actual Doom in it. (So it fits perfectly on the Doom Charts! Grin!) Well, lyrics wise there is some definite doom and gloom; but the hardrock and stoner grooves displayed here will also definitely make you smile. Atavistic stoner tunes straight from the desert dueling for attention with hardrock from the hard road; add some lovely psychedelic touches and we’ve got an album meant for the ages. Which is truly is, for the album truly gets better with each listening session! Get hooked on the Doom Machine and you will get burned, by Miss Lava!
