And so it begins…

We’re about to lift off! We have passed the 8:00 GMT deadline on December the 15th of 2025. We tallied all the votes and the results are in! No less than 192 lists came in through the email, phone, Instagram and messenger. And one list detailing seven great albums arrived just moments ago and we quickly computed that one as well. It was fun seeing the Numbers One and Two constantly changing places. As well as the Three and Four. And the Five and Six. Which all seemed to exist in a league of their own. Some 572 albums received votes this year, which seems a lot less than earlier years with these amount of voters. But many lists only detailed a Top 5 or Top 10 this year. Which might explain why… 

So, my thanks goes out, like every year, to all those amazing bands and artists who provided us with so much incredible music, so much musical mojo, that we all love so dearly. Personally, I reckon music comes closest to that thing people call magic! We also thank the labels that release those albums, the PR people that promote them and you all: the listeners and the voters! Thank you all! I love doing this! And I am humbled to receive so many lists, in awe that some of you have been sending those lists since we started doing this in 2009 or a year or two later. And humbled for the amount of you heavy music fiends that follow along for the Countdown ride! Thank you all! 

And now, we go on to reveal the Number 20 of 2025! The Number 20 album according to all you crazies out there who decided to vote for the Stoner HiVe Top 20 Countdown this year!

We have passed the 12:00 CET deadline on December the 14th of 2024. We tallied all the votes and the results are in! No less than 218 lists came in through the email, phone, instagram and messenger, which is only a few less than last year. It was great seeing a couple of albums constantly switch places. And seeing a Number One run away with the votes. A Number Two carry away a lot of votes. Same goes for the Number Three. And the Four, Five and Six duking it out. And a few more spots switching it up or jump minor points to get to the Number 20. Some 728 albums received votes and they all deserve that vote for sure…

So, my thanks goes out, like every year, to all those amazing bands and artists who provided us with so much incredible music, so much musical mojo, that we all love so dearly. Personally, I reckon music comes closest to that thing people call magic! We also thank the labels that release those albums, the PR people that promote them and you all: the listeners and the voters! Thank you all! Shall we do a different intro text or use the same one again and slightly edit it? For it has been an incredible ride once again. Well, we have passed the 8:00 CET deadline on December the 16th of 2023. And it has been a stupendous year in music once again. So many amazing releases! Last year there were more groups, definite frontrunners and serious difference in amount of points in the lower regions. This year seems different. Number 1 quickly took the lead and never let go. The seven below Number 1 are all very close in points. After which a slow and steady decent in points happens all the way to around Number 150. I guess this is a testament to the quality of all those releases this year. Mind blowing!

So, my thanks goes out, like every year, to all those amazing bands and artists who provided us with so much incredible music, so much musical mojo, that we all love so dearly. Personally, it comes closest to that thing people call magic! But, the deadline for the Stoner HiVe Top 20 Countdown of 2023 has passed! It’s time for Number 20! According to your votes, a grand total of 236 lists received! Dwarfing the amount of 164 of last year!

Yes, we can keep using that same intro text... And to think that each year, since the beginning of Stoner HiVe, back in 2009, every year has been filled with so many great albums. It is simply stupefying to think of all that heavy magic and musical mojo! Really, it blows my mind… So, my thanks goes out, like every years, to all those amazing bands and artists who provided us with so much incredible music, so much musical mojo, that we all love so dearly. But hey, the deadline for the Stoner HiVe Top 20 Countdown of 2022 has passed! Last year we received 123 lists! And thanks to the amount we received last night, we dwarfed it by almost fifty, reaching the grand total of 164 lists!!! A massive thanks to everyone for sending your list. Stupendous once again when it comes to heavy music releases. And to think that each year, since the beginning of Stoner HiVe, back in 2009, has been filled with so many great albums. It is simply stupefying to think of all that heavy magic and musical mojo! Really, it blows my mind… So, my thanks goes out to all those amazing bands and artists who provided us with so much incredible music, so much musical mojo, that we all love so dearly. But hey, the deadline for the Stoner HiVe Top 20 Countdown of 2021 has passed! Last year we received 147 lists! For a while it looked like we might actually receive more; but we stumbled at the finish line… I blame that damn snowboarding! But even so; we received the amazing amount of 123 lists!! We have long since passed the 20:00 CET deadline on December the 14th of this once again majestic musical year of 2018. Yes, two days extension was alreayd on the books... Which was then again extended two more days thanks to the heavy snowfall in Austria. How we love the mountains and how we love that snow! But in the every early hours of this very day we started tallying. To catch up with the ones we are behind we shall countdown two positions a day as of tomorrow. But yeah, the deadline passed! And we received a damn fine total of 79 lists!

So, my thanks goes out to all those amazing bands and artists who provided us with so much new incredible music that we all love so dearly. Albums that made all of you cast your votes! Facts and figures will follow after the countdown has been done. And ofcourse my thanks goes out to all of you lovely freaks out there, the ones who sent in their favorite albums, detailing a top 20, top 10 or a top 5. We have passed the 20:00 CET deadline on December the 13th of this dramatic and horrible year of 2016. Ofcourse we are not referring to the incredible music that came out, cause that has been stellar once again. But to the personal tragedy we have suffered. But we shall not dwell on that here any longer and continue with what we came here to do. To do a righteous countdown of the amazing array of albums that came out in this foul year of our Lord 2016. Thanks to a bunch of you who decided to send their lists at the very final minutes before the deadline closed, we can now state with some pride that we received 76 lists. There was so much great music released this year there were a lot of albums that first made the Top 20 and then fell off and then made it back on again and round and round it went. And yes, there are once again more than 20 albums on the Top 20. My humble thanks goes out to all the bands who delivered so many great albums this year, the fans that buy their music and go to their concerts and ofcourse to all you lovely freaks out there that voted for the Stoner HiVe Top 20 Countdown, cause without you guys and girls, rodents and quadrupeds, this would not be possible. I bow before you!

And so it begins…

We have passed the 20:00 CET deadline on December the 13th of this musically stupendous year of 2015 many hours ago. Yes, since last year we have decided to keep the deadline going for another day and do a lot of work in the final minutes of the first day of the Stoner HiVe top 20 countdown. And this year again, a lot of lists came in on that final day. Giving us the grand total of 72 sent in lists! There was so much great music released this year there were a lot of albums that first made it and then fell off and then made it back on and so it went. And then there’s also the fact that there are 24 bands in this top 20, which just proves the point I guess. So, my thanks goes out to all those amazing bands and artists who provided us with so much new incredible music that we all love so dearly. And ofcourse my thanks goes out to all of you lovely freaks out there, the ones who sent in their favorite albums, detailing a top 10 or a top 5 or even a top 20. And yes, this year there were, once again, two of those crazy cats that went as far at putting 56 albums in order and even 87 records. Crazy… But that’s how it goes…

So… without further ado… We give you Number TWENTY.

We have passed the 20:00 CET deadline on December the 12th of this musically stupendous year of 2014 many hours ago. But due to the many lists sent in the final moments it took longer to compute everything. So many great albums have been released that it once again made a lot of the list jump around like a mad kangaroo with some kind of weird flue. In the top though, things got pretty steady, pretty quick. Do you want to wager who wins? Nah, let’s just wait till December 31st to see who it is! It has once again been amazing to see the level of commitment of all you lovely freaks out there. And we received no less than 86 lists this year! Some of you sent a one album list; some three, some more, a few entered the exact twenty and a few went as far as detailing no less than a hundred or even a hundred and fifty one albums. Crazy bastards! Crazy… But that’s how it goes…

So… without further ado… We give you Number TWENTY.
