Tongue – Daydreaming Ride

Tongue – Daydreaming Ride
Purple Factory – 2013
Rock, Alternative, Stoner, Grunge, Punk
Rated: ****

So here it is. The third installment of Tongue’s A Night You’ll Never Remember trilogy series. After the damn fine Who Fired The Workers Of Happiness Factory? in 2012 and the just as awesome follow-up All Roads Lead To Me early this year everyone must be giddy with anticipation to hear what the Serbs come up with next. This time around Tongue acts as a two-piece and heads off into an alternative rock and grunge direction. But with an even bigger nod to desert stoner than before the three tracks convince with intelligent compositions, superior riffs and better guitar coloring. Add to this the more convincing basswork and vocals that drag you along on their fantastic voyage and one can be sure that one is in for a damn good ride. Now let’s see how A Night You’ll Never Remember sounds in full… Who knows; it might even jog the memory…

Tongue – All Roads Lead To Me

Last year we already mentioned the first EP by Serbian rock out fit Tongue. It was the start of a trilogy and therefor it is only logical that a second should arrive. It is called A Night You’ll Never Remember Vol. 2 – All Roads Lead To Me and is a continuation of that punky new wave garage we heard on their first effort. Combining those genres with tad bit of stoner and a small stint of grunge it evokes the same kind of atmosphere as that first one. But this time around the EP also seems to mirror its title and give a damn fine auricular translation of dazed out Sunday mornings when the hangover has yet to turn lucid. The sounds of loud bars ringing in your ear and vague memories plaguing your brain and aches and pains in your bones that might be due to the dehydration or some accident caused by friends or foes…

Tongue – Who Fired The Workers Of Happiness Factory

Tongue – Who Fired The Workers Of Happiness Factory

Tongue, a three-piece from Serbia has recently released their first EP Who Fired The Workers Of Happiness Factory. Although the members have been toying around with other bands for much longer. Such as Jaibo, Straight Mickey and the Boyz, 36 Daggers and Euforia. But the reason Tongue was founded back in 2010 was the demise of frontman Bizic Vladimir’s hardcore punk band Let’s Grow. Started as a solo project is quickly developed into more since it plucked members right out of its own musical history; reminding the artist that this band also sort of existed as WishingWell around 2003-05. Anyway, Who Fired The Workers Of Happiness Factory is the first of a trilogy of EP’s to arrive this year. Combining a weird kind of new wave, punk, garage and grunge with stoner. And angst, anger and madness with earnest believe. Intriguing debut that rattles around in your head without you even knowing it…
