Disagony – Venom Dish
Snowhite/Irascible/Rough Trade/Domino Media Agency – 2013
Rock, Stoner, Grunge, Alternative, Punk
Rated: ****
On the debut full-length Venom Dish we are served tasty pointy rock with a luscious stoner and alternative grunge sound that reminds of Queens Of The Stone Age, Distillers, Vines, Pretty Reckless, L7, Hole and Sweethead. All dished out with a breathtaking rough voice that brings a seducing rage that screams through your veins like a DMT cannon shot. Which is thanks to the Disagony head chef, guitar-slinging vocalist Lynn Maring. She takes the nineties grunge of mentioned groups and re-heats it till it becomes this entirely new recipe. But that’s not completely true; for almost all the tracks on the album reminds of something; they strike a chord in the heart of your memories and make you relive certain crazy nights. It might even provoke flashbacks. Nineties nostalgia and rabid riot grrrl racket!
