It's time for a break... We're off to Austria to find a mountain or two to snowboard down from. Let's hope for some decent snow. The weather predictions are good. But the quality of snow might be limited. Even so, it will be grand... Cause we're also celebrating the fact that my princess and me will be married ten years. Ten years. How time flies... Still can't believe she said yes... 

No updates for a week... But hey... There's still that Doom Charts Top 100 to scour through, the Stoner HiVe Top 20 Countdown and all those massive Personal lists from the Stoner HiVe Team. And otherwise I  am sure you will get your fix for all those new releases popping up from all those other blogs and sites! 

And as we make our way over to Austria, we will surely be listening to the live Hermano album, the new Weedpecker, Stargo, Capacopter, Gran Moreno, Oreyeon, New Mexican Doom Cult, Beelzebong, Stonus, Hypnotic Pattern, Mount Palatine and Astral Voyager Vol.2... You know... The follow-up to last years Doom Charts Number 1 album by Kal-El... Hope to review them all when I return...

Off to Italy…

And like that… We’re gone… Well, in a few hours... Off to Italy for three weeks, seeing the sights, hiking the mountains and probably trying to dive into the Vesuvius volcano. No updates on the little old blog or on Facebook… But there might be a very occasional post on Instagram. Since we’re heading for Naples as well, we will surely be listening to the Tuna De Tierra albums. Who, by coincidence, might be reforming (with a different line-up) in the near future! We can only hope! And of course many of the great releases of the past and upcoming months will be travelling with us. And all time favorite 'on the road' albums... Do you have favorites for the road? Let us know, we might be able to take those with us as well..

We’re off for a few days trying to find some mountains covered in snow in Austria. But the Doom Charts Peroration Post went live just now, with 21 albums to feast your ears on. And there is that FULL ALBUM PREMIERE we did for the new Drunken Crocodiles album Aegony we did just yesterday. And there is that way-back machine on the little old blog, where you can find so many hidden gems, it boggles the mind. Can’t get enough of Kaiser’s new 2nd Sound, so that will be coming with me. Komatsu 's A Breakfast For Champions to wreck the slopes, An Evening With Knives 's End Of Time to kill the ramps… Any suggestions on what other albums to take with us?

Anyway, enjoy all the heaviness! Enjoy the sun!

We’re off… Off grid for a week. Hiking around and learning more about volcanoes! Not active ones like the one on the drawing. But long since extinct ones. And yes, albums by Volcanova and Puta Volcano are going wiht us. But we will surely be listening to the October Doom Charts on route and whenever the starry night calls for it... I mean, that Elephant Tree / Lowrider split seems perfect for that!

We’re off… Off grid for a couple of weeks. Hiking the Mountains of Picos de Europa and surfing the waves of the Bay of Biscay. Taking those forty albums of the May Doom Charts with us, and many more… No updates on the little old blog or on Facebook… But there might be a very occasional post on Instagram. Should you follow the HiVe there… Probably of a mountain or a wave… Or a beer kept cool by the world famous Psychlona koozie…

All the work for the Doom Charts is finished and I managed to even write-up a mention or two for the Stoner HiVe. Did you listen to Caroozer or The Black Flamingo yet?

All the rent-paying work is done as well and 2024 beckons to be enjoyed! So, I’m off to ride a mountain or two in Austria. Back in a week… And I don’t know about you, but I’m taking that Doom Charts Top 100 Albums of 2023 with me and will continue enjoying the rundown while riding down them slopes!

Well... Off to hike around Scotland for a few weeks. Visit Ben Nevis, a wee few distilleries and walk around a lot of beautiful lakes... Hence the recent silence on Stoner HiVe, had too much work to do before I could leave. And now that we go, there will be more silence... Fitting as we get lost in the fog in some dubious moor or two... Think we need some horror books and music to accompany us...

After that wild December month on Stoner HiVe; with the Stoner HiVe Top 20 Countdown of 2021; came those personal lists month on the Doom Charts… So; we’re in bad need of some R&R… We’re off to the mountains to see if there’s still some snow to enjoy… 

Will be back after February 7th!

Cause all that’s good and heavy is being released on a daily basis!

Gonna do a little two week tour of France; will be back around the Fourth of July!

Normally we would be flying to the waves around this time. But we’re not very comfortable with flying right now. So; we’re hopping in the car and driving over to Italy. Sure, we’ll hike, sit somewhere on a mountain top. But I guess most of the time will be spent just doing nothing… Reading a book… Watching the sunset and drinking some wine… Italy is supposed to have a decent amount of that… And ofcourse that awesome Black Rainbows album will be spinning on route to the boot and so will Black Elephant. If you have any more new Italian releases we need to take with us;  do not hesitate to let us know! Thanks in advance!

Due to a massive snow dump in a part of the Alps, it could not be helped! We’re off to ride an avalanche or two… It’s addictive that white powder; and we’re not talking about that stuff you spread out over a mirror or cd case or whatever flat surface you can find. No no no, we need the steep surfaces! The ones that will not only fake you into going fast, but actually will make you go boom! Not sure about the soundtrack for the road though? Or the inevitable ride or two with headphones… Vessel’s new Vagabond Blues album for sure. The Fuzzriders EP definitely. Major Kong’s Off The Scale album for sure! Elden, Desert Colossus, Yuri Gagarin, She Love Pablo and Serpent Cobra. Shit, we are pretty sure about the soundtrack!

A week later than last year but almost the same destination. Last year we were surfing south of Lisbon. This year we are heading a bit north of Lisbon. We shall still be listening to No Waves, Just Sharks by The Mad Doctors though; simply because it is the right thing to do and because we are a little heartbroken by the fact they are calling it quits... And we shall ofcourse also be listening to the Reflections album by The Black Wizards a lot. Cause c'mon, they're from Portugal! Will be back in a week or two… Unless we’re eaten by a shark ofcourse… We only barely survived last year... Two years in a row seems unlikely...

It’s a new keyboard we’re hammering away on now. The other one went out the window listening to T-Tops’s new release Disease. And we won’t get much accustomed to this one very quick, since we are about to leave for Portugal to catch a few waves… Surf’s up! Soundtrack to this holiday will be The Chats and ofcourse the Mad Doctors with their majestic No Waves, Just Sharks album! Will be back in a week or two… Unless we’re eaten by a shark ofcourse… Those things happen…

Due to a massive amount of personal tragedies and setbacks in the past weeks, the Stoner HiVe show has grinded to a halt. Soon we will be back at it... But it will take some time...

Well. It’s that time again. Time to cross borders and cross lines. There is no time like the present to destroy cities and wreak havoc upon its inhabitants. Don’t worry, we will spare the good ones. Like the guys from Little Boy and the crazy fiends from ZOE. Both of whom we shall meet and encourage to drink a little more than average for a change. Lille. It does not sound as exotic, but has such an abundance of local talent and rundown drinking holes with live stages, that it will surely exceed all expectations. I am not looking to ruin the city, just a big part of it. Ho ho ho. And should I not make it back alive. Well, I’ve enjoyed the hell out of everything…

Sorry my brethren, I gotta go do some stuff. But will be back before the next full moon. And if not; well, if the recent loss of our amigo has taught us anything; it is better to cease every day by the balls… Even if it turns out to be one mad freakin bull that kicks you back in the nuts. Whatever happens after that; you made sure you lived it all to the fullest! And whatever gets your adrenaline rushing; is probably worth doing!
