Misty Route – Ethos

Misty Route – Ethos
Bitume Prods – 2026
Metal, Prog, Alternative
Rated: ****

We never wrote about the earlier Without A Trace release, and we certainly should have. But luckily we can now remedy the fact that we neglected to write about Misty Route by publishing a few words on the wild and wonderful new album Ethos! For it has a certain burning desire to it all, a story to tell and in a way only Greek bands seem to be able to do it. Their countrymen of The Same River, for instance, have that gift as well. Well... You just have to let go and follow the music as it leads the way.

A traveler steps onto a shadowed path, where each turn reveals a new shade of sound and emotion. Misty Route’s Ethos unfolds like this journey. Driven by modern, muscular riffs, thunderous bass, and powerful, haunting vocals. The road shifts between heavy rock grit, grungy undertones, and progressive metal complexity, never settling, always pulling you deeper. Moments of melody break through the darkness, only to be swallowed again by brooding grooves and dynamic contrasts. Each track feels like a chapter, rich with tension and release. By the end as the mist clears… You are left with  a striking, immersive album that lingers long after the final note fades…

Oniroshi – European tour starts… Now!

Onioroshi – European tour starts… Now!

It took me a while to remember that I dug Beyond These Mountains LP from 2019 quite a lot. But after revisiting it this week, I knew we had to mention the fact that the Italian threesome Onioroshi is about commence on their European tour. Ten dates, with the first happening tomorrow in Peyrelevade, France. Sadly no Dutch dates this time around, but luckily we have the new Eris and Wicked Child singles to keep us warm. And let’s not forget that they also released their Shrine album in 2025 through Bitume Productions….

The two new singles still retain that expansive heavy psychedelic prog. But blend that atmospheric exploration with more slow burning song structuring, giving the tension filled compositions a feverish dream quality, that might just turn into a rabbit hole on stage. You can never know where the Onioroshi three will take you. Not on record and certainly not on stage!

PR Wire

Onioroshi is a Heavy Psych band from Italy active since 2019. Following the debut of  their 2nd LP Shrine (2025, Bitume Productions), the band played some shows in Italy and then started working on a European tour for 2026. At the same time they began working on new music: two new singles named “Wicked Child” and “Eris”, both 5 minutes long, mark the first time the band has released compositions shorter than ten minutes, with a new drive towards a more leaned and flowing style, which doesn’t drop the distinctive noise-driven research of the band. The new songs were released on February the 25th with two videos shot by Jacopo Gioacchini, with Rebecca Piraccini featuring as actress and dancer.

The band is touring Europe between 12 and 27 March 2026, visiting southern France (in Peyrelevade and Uzerche), Geneva (CH), Subotica (SRB), Budapest (HU), Bratislava (SK), Vienna (AT) and Osijek (CR) for a total of ten shows, and sharing the stage with plenty of independent and local bands.

Tour dates:

13/03 @lerepeyre – Peyrelevade [FR] /w @bitumeprods
14/03 Le Bruit Qui Court – Uzerche [FR] /w @oneburningmatch @bitumeprods
15/03 @urgence_disk_records – Genève [CH]
The visuals in this video will run as background in some of our shows. They were shot by @jcp.img edited by @cinobalanos and feature @rebecca.piraccini (masked dancer) and @__kyrieleison__ (actress in the bn shots)

Stoner HiVe’s Quick Fire Friday

Stoner HiVe’s Quick Fire Friday

It’s been awhile! Oops, sorry for that flashback again. But we noticed the last Quick Fire Friday we did was way back in May! So, let’s remedy that fact immediately! Let’s shoot from the hip. Fire in a flurry! Here are eight deliciously hot singles, EP’s or albums that we desperately want you all to check out. And we know, we should do more… For there is so much great music out there, and we cannot ever do it all justice. So we came up with a way to shoot out a quick blurb and hope it will entice you to listen to the single or the entire discography! So here it is… Another Stoner HiVe’s Quick Fire Friday! And it burns hot like molten lava!

The Devil's Cabana Boiz – The Void

Two weeks ago they released yet another single! London's finest weekend warriors bringing you some more of their delicious groove and fuzz. This time however they deep dive into the human condition and turn out a little diddy about the human condition and our tendencies to numb the pain. A slower groove this time, riff heavy, and one that immediately warms the soul and serves as the perfect psychoactive substance to soothe the savage beast inside…

Mordbear – Mordbear EP

The Portland, Oregon three going under the name Mordbear are here to serve you three delicious goodies. Based on the sound of yore, the proto metal and the acid rock, the three deliver something inherently spellbinding. Captivated by their tones and their ability to morph that olden times sound into something current is absolutely delightful. The vinyl comes with an eight page comic book, illustrating each track and that must be a wild ride as well, since the tracks combine a weird theory about global warming, 60’s DMT trips and an esoteric view into self-transformation. The three found and share with us their recipe to produce stoner gold!

The Division Men – San Saba

Soon, The Division Men will release the full album entitled: Hymns and Fiery Dances. Shall we name all the collaborations that go on, on this record? Or just a few? Well, they currently include Rafael Gayol (Leonard Cohen), Rick G Nelson (Afghan Whigs, Twilight Singers, Polyphonic Spree, St. Vincent), Jay Reynolds (Asleep at the Wheel), Fredo Ortiz (Beastie Boys, Los Lobos), Leah Shapiro (Black Rebel Motorcycle Club), Dana Colley (Morphine), Asya Sorshneva (CocoRosie), Beto Martinez (Groupo Fantasma), Josh Marcus, Jacob Valenzuela (Calexico), Laura Scarborough, Barb Hunter (Afghan Whigs, Pigface), Eric Gorfain (Sam Phillips, Def Leppard, Queens of the Stone Age, Dr Dre), Peter Hayes (Black Rebel Motorcycle Club), Roscoe Beck (Leonard Cohen) and Alain Johannes (Eleven, Them Crooked Vultures, Queens of the Stone Age, PJ Harvey). That should be enough. Enough to check out this single called San Saba and their full album Hymns and Fiery Dances with all that Americana, Western tinged rock. Cinematic and truly wonderful.

Superseed – Big Mistake

Did you hear and see Superseed’s first single and video Stand Your Ground? Hope so, cause we were honored to premiere it over on the HiVe. The full album Tremor drops in August on Savage Magic Records, but a new single was released two weeks ago. Big Mistake is no mistake, but a big hooked nineties alternative, grungy and infectious riff fest. And of course, there’s another grand video to accompany the song. A few grand spent no doubt!

Astral Goat Dominion - Lucifer (Part I)

Astral Goat Dominion is a ritualistic stoner doom sludge duo and apparently active since May 2024. Italian born but based in Germany they say and Lucifer (Part I) is their first single. Ritualistic indeed, a bit too stale because of it perhaps? Cause it might lack a bit of climax. But the overload on the fuzz reverb and evil organ sounds will spontaneously draw a pentagram in every listeners house…

Kokkinià – The Last Are Lost From The List

Out on Bitume Productions since the end of June, the reissue of the Kokkinià album The Last Are Lost From The List. Hailing from Athens, Greece, the four piece delivered this album digitally back in 2022, but it is now available on physical media. Added are two singles and the total package results in more than fifty minutes of alternative rock. Grunge inspired, prog touched and always nodding towards the nineties. Yamas!

Cannabus – The Other Jam

A jam, recorded during the Other Side sessions. Instrumental and groovy and happening and cool. It’s Cannabus and their single release The Other Jam. Way more seventies, and the kind of psychedelic blues that explodes out of your speakers. I love The Other Jam. I love Cannabus. And I love their cover art work for all the earlier releases. This one breaks from that tradition, just as the live track Desert Trip-Live At Rhune Mountain did. Which makes me a bit sad. But playing The Other Jam turns that frown upside down!

Scott Evil – Big Dipper

We mentioned their Pizzazz single back in May, but the new Scott Evil album Big Dipper is out now! On Spinda Records since early June. The alternative dream pop, the garage indie and the psych gaze just has something to it that makes you want to put this album on whenever the day promises to become exceptionally warm. This is that hazy early morning feeling. Or when the sun is about to set. Lounging and smiling…

Stoner HiVe’s Quick Fire Friday

Stoner HiVe’s Quick Fire Friday

It’s been a few weeks since we did the last Quick Fire Friday round! But we’re here again and we dare to say it’s another one that will singe and sizzle! Another selection of beautiful singles, videos and EP’s to check out over the weekend. That’s right, we’ve got another one of those Quick Fire Friday segments for ya! For there is so much great music out there, we cannot ever do it all justice. So we came up with a way to shoot out a quick blurb and hope it will entice you to listen to the single or the entire discography! So here it is… Another Stoner HiVe’s Quick Fire Friday! And it burns hot like molten lava!

Grin – Unshut

Remembering that damn fine show at Into The Void Festival, Leeuwarden last year gave me a huge smile. Listening to the new single Unshut by two piece behemoth Grin made it even bigger! It’s the third single to the Acid Gods album which will be released May 30th on The Lasting Dose Records. Sludge tones, psychedelic doom and distorted by so much fuzzed out noise it will leave you breathless. Just like that live gig did…

Stone Clones – Numb Me Out

We just mentioned a band from Australia and a duo from Tasmania. Best be mentioned New Zealand as well in that case! And we’re lucky that Hamilton, New Zealand fourpiece Stone Clones just released a new track called Numb Me Out. A slow, desert strolling, stoner rocking song that has infectious pop sensible blow outs and a gumshoe storytelling vibe. Love it!

Alien Sun – You

The last releases by Fabio Epifani and his London, UK born Alien Sun project stem from 2008. But now he’s sending a harrowing new tune into the world called You. Accompanied by an even more disturbing video. Fully made with AI it’s a ‘story about detachment and indifference in modern times. A story about all of us.’  Frightening and distressing, also because some of the images produced hit hard and show the capabilities of the AI thing is growing with every second that passes. And every bomb dropped…

A new single by French crazies Poste 942! And as always, damn interesting! This one is part of a tribute album for Mindfunk. Replica Jesus – Bonegrinder

Replica Jesus already enticed you all with that February single The Rope. And now, before a new full album, surely to arrive in the future, will be out, they slay with a second track called Bonegrinder. The Derby, UK four have their own style of punked up stoner and grunge. Bonegrinder is Replica Jesus at his best! You’d best believe!

The Devil's Cabana Boiz – Retox

London's finest weekend warriors bringing you some groove and fuzz! It’s party time! The Devil’s Cabana Boiz got some more gold for you all. It’s called Retox, sporting kick ass lyrics, vocals and a flurry of great riffage. Accompanied by even greater key work! Hear that walk, that pretty little ditty on the keys. Makes me crack a smile! And if I would have had botox, crack my face…
