Another week in the books. I must admit I was really miffed about the fact that FB decided to delete the November Doom Charts. It was spreading among the followers nicely and there was already a lot of work invested the whole thing. It’s so annoying that you cannot do anything about it when it happens. And it took me a little while to find new energy to try and do something new to get the word out again about all those amazing albums. But I’m glad I did.
Above is the list of albums we listened to the most the past week. A week that saw the passing of  bar poet Shane MacGowan, which of course had use revisiting some of his work. May he rest in peace. A week that also had us scribbling something about The Fulcrum and saw Kyle SB write something about Almost Honest which came in 3rd on the November Doom Charts. And for you bands out there, Kyle SB has decided to start it’s om PR project called Good Boy PR. So, you might wanna check that out! A long with all those albums mentioned above! Yes! All of ‘m!!

Saltpig – Saltpig

Saltpig – Saltpig
Self-released – 2023
Rock, Punk, Stoner, Proto, Blues
Rated: ***

The mysterious Saltpig duo hails from the USA and released their debut full-sized and self-titled album at the very end of October. And those first five tracks on the album will surely strike a chord in the hearts of every heavy rock loving fiend. Especially those that like their heavy rock dirty, soiled, messy and touched by something evil and ominous. But even if there is something wicked floating about these first five tunes, they also have something groovy and often even catchy. A paradox that sits perfectly with Saltpig. Indeed. Filthy metal wallowing in a muddy stoner rock sound, proto touched, bluesy and highly fuzzed! But it has a mighty fine groove as well and a pearly speck of doom. And then there’s that final almost twenty minute long freak out track 1950. Noisy, like a wrecking crew tearing through your neighborhood. Wowzah! Yes sir, these filthy, salty pigs came here to show the squares some class, give ‘em a whiff of those kicks they'll never know…
