The weeks are flying by! And soon we will depart on our three weeks off grid holiday adventure, hugging the border between France and Germany as we go south to Italy, towards the Turin region, and the mountains in the vicinity. But we still have a few days to do a few HiVe posts… Although probably not as many as we did last week! First up: A FULL ALBUM PREMIERE for the Hypnosaur album Afterlife! Coming at you in a few hours! 

Last week we posted quite a few words by our inhouse poet: Ronny Dijksterhuis. Did you manage to look at  Stump Grinder? Admiral Sir Cloudesley Shovell? Gnod? Or his faster than shadow work for the Quick Fire Friday? Which we continued on with a Quick Fire Weekend! (Saturday  & Sunday) Those three Quick Fire posts along will give you twenty-four albums, ep’s and singles to check out! And we upped words on the amazing new Iguana Death Cult and stunning Robot God. And then there were those two Premieres! The monastic doom album by Maliciouz went live on our little blog. And the beautiful new single Adrift by Phe! I hope you listened to those on the blog or on their own pages the day after. Wonderful stuff! O’ and me mentioned the Doom Charts Peroration, cause we were at Sonic Whip Festival went that one went live. Last but not least; we put the words online about the new Hypnosaur album Afterlife… And that beautiful album will see its FULL ALBUM PREMIERE on our little HiVe in only a few hours… You ready for that? Another week has passed, one that was filled with off grid time and live energy! That’s right, the real most listened list should mention: Live Music! Cause it was Sonic Whip time! And man, what a great ride it was once again! Amazing sets followed one another like clockwork. But if we pick only one favorite from Day One it has to be Iguana Death Cult. And on the Second Day it has to be Bismut. Indeed, of course, you can rest easy knowing Earthless, The Sword, Acid King, King Buffalo, Hermano, Russian Circles and actually all the rest delivered the goods as well! And yes, we have the Temple Fang - Live At Sonic Whip vinyl... It was the absolute first thing we did entering the venue... Now, we have to get grounded again and get to work so to speak! Only two more weeks though, and then I’m off grid for three weeks… But still some good stuff to do and to listen to before that day comes! Like those Sons of Node words we managed to put up last week. We shall try to do more this week! Let’s get crackin!

Good morning one and all! It’s Monday, the start of the week. And where last week was all about that Hermano, Solace and Troy Torino gig. What a night! Loved every minute of the Solace set and Hermano was tight and grooving and kicking ass! Man they rock! This is about Sonic Whip Festival, starting on Friday. An amazing festival, and two days filled with a stunning line-up! Can’t wait… Before we leave on Thursday, we do hope to get some HiVe work done! And predict at least one or two posts… Grin!

Just like we managed to put something up last week. A few words on the stunning Black Lung record and amazing Tusoc album. Madman Tony Maim graced us with his thoughts on American Sharks and we then did two premieres on one day! One for the kick ass single Foamdrinker from We Follow The Earth and the brilliant Mörkekraft album Fragments. Two sides of the heavy underground coin that both deserve your attention! And last but not least, because of inquiry or two, we put up a Buy Me A Coffee page. It’s a bit weird to put something like that up. But hey, why not right? It's all up in the air and we thank you for checking out the HiVe and reading our words either way... And more importantly, we talked with the main dude behind Phantom Logic, an interview that will go live on the HiVe as soon as we return from our off grid holiday in a few weeks. It’s Kingsday over here in the Netherlands, and we’ve just returned from a two day break at the beach with our little six year old niece. Which meant, no updates and no time to keep track of everything. And last week, well, we had our Thursday and Friday spent doing all that Friday Freebie madness for the Doom Charts! As well as heading over to Tilburg for an amazing live show by Naxatras! If they ever turn up in your neighborhood, don’t miss out! As we run into the new week, we take a quick look back at the albums we listened to the most last week and of course take a gander at the limited amount of posts we were able to put online. We keep struggling to find the time to do more. And we fear there will not be much time for a lot this week. We do have a FULL ALBUM PREMIERE lined-up for Wednesday and probable interviews on Thursday and Friday. One of them will even be for the HiVe! But hey, we try and thank you all for keeping track of what we try to do… 

So, last week, we managed to do a quick Premiere Post for that wild Beneath The Skin debut and wrote some words for the new Abrams. We saw the Doom Charts Peroration for March 2026 go live and jotted down a word or two about the heartland rock album by Gatlin Black. And last but certainly not least, motherfuzzing Mothertruck album by Fuzzing Nation got mentioned. So, we did do something, but it never feels like enough. But we try! Good morning! It’s been a heavy week trying to come to grips with the fact I’m becoming an old man. A freaking bout with the flu is taking me many days to recuperate from. It’s been over a week now and I’m still not a 100%. And because of all the lying around on couches and bed has wrecked my lower back. Pfff… Luckily we have all this amazing music to lift our spirit and heal our soul! The road to recovery might be longer nowadays, but its paved with great riffs and awesome grooves! Don’t believe me? It’s a weird Monday. It always is of course. But when you are still not nowhere near a 100 % (you never are of course) after a bout with the flu, it even feels weirder. Sorry for the lack of updates, but I got felled on Thursday night and could barely operate on Friday. And after that I got only worse. But here we are and the brain fog and fever has turned into a mist and a few degrees. So onwards and upwards. Well. Soon. We’ve got a few reviews almost done, so those will surely see the light of day this week. Unless the plague comes back… 

Luckily we had Steve De Rique aka Stevie Reek deliver a cool blurb for the Starf**K Electric Company release and we managed to promote the Doom Charts Peroration. Did any of you visit the Peroration? Did you find a new favorite album? Did you find the missing album art in the Peroration Header image? And a couple sentences about the new Jack Harlon & The Dead Crows appeared last week as well. But of course, our main attention went out to the FULL ALBUM PREMIERE we were honored to do for that amazing Bad Mothers Union album Sore Losers! Go visit all of those and the Top 10 Most Listened albums list and you will surely have a grand old time! Morning everyone! Another week stretches out before us as we look back to a decent week when it comes to Stoner HiVe activity. We look forward to doing the FULL ALBUM PREMIERE this week for Bad Mothers Union and we have a few reviews going up for sure. Last week we did a Video and Single Premiere for Lord of Confusion and managed to write a few words about the Witching Buzz’s Tribute albums and that amazing Mientras Las Abejas Duermen album. We mentioned the new single by supergroup Bear Bones and Onioroshi, who are currently on tour through Southern Europe. And started the week by publishing a few thoughts on the new Kal-El record Astral Voyager Vol.2. And besides all that we were honored to receive words written by our own poet Ronny Dijksterhuis about the thrilling new Cowboys & Aliens album and Madman Tony Maim graced us with a words on the new Belzebong. Morning! Hope you had a great week? We did! For it was the week in which we saw Kardeathian for the first time live. A sound that maneuvered between moments of Acid King and Los Natas, but overal felt like a slow trek through the swamp. Muddy, morose and monotonous. The final song had them opening up more, the sound coming into its own, groove and flow rising to the top. Hope to see them live again and am extremely interested in what they will sound like on record. Which will be released later this year. And we saw an incredibly tight Psychlona on the first night of their European tour. Holy hell, the outfit has become a machine! And the vocals sat perfect in the mix, taking the audience on every adventure Psychlona had planned for the night. Go see them if you can! 

 It was also a Doom Charts week last week, which means we started listening to the entire list of forty albums again after it was published. Getting all the way to Grave Disgrace yesterday and continuing on with Fátima today. So many great release! And there were way more, cause the Contributors voted for 200 different ones. Wow. We managed to have a few posts up last week and we got a few almost done for this week. But before new ones go live, let’s look back at Ronny Dijksterhuis’s write up for Druid Stone! The Doom Charts post. Words on the new Urlaub in Polen, Prophets of Thwaites and Purple Lung. And to that single premiere we did for Morrison Graves. And we might just do another premiere this week as well… Better check regularly! Ho ho ho. But seriously, thank you all for the continued support. Another week in the books and another in front of us. One where most of you few that will be reading these words can be thankful that you live where you live. For now. When will all the fighting stop? Everywhere. Why can’t there be a new wave of freedom, acceptance and love wash over the world? And never roll back… 

Did you escape in some way the past week? Did we help out a little? We hope so, cause we were honored to premiere a video for Bronco Forte and the amazing full album premiere for Sons Of Gulliver. Monday is upon us once again! A new week and a new chance to do more for the Heavy Underground. We are blessed with so much time to listen to all that amazing music. But we would love more time to write and promote all those amazing albums, bands and projects! Like the two festivals we mentioned yesterday, Jam In The Psych Castle and Bear Stone Festival. I think we will try to mention more of those this week. And don’t forget, HUFR Fest is happening in April over in Denver! Well, and we mentioned those two singles: American Sharks and Midnight Whiskey Massacre. Besides premiering the New Dawn Fades track Leave My Loneliness Unbroken. And guess what, we have TWO more PREMIERES happening this week! The Doom Charts Peroration for January went live and the review for Stargo’s new album Violet Skies. Good Monday everyone! Hope it will be a splendid week for you all. We had quite a few reviews almost finished, but life crept up, kick us in the nuts and did not give us any time to recuperate and get some Stoner HiVe work done. Life and quite some difficulties kept us from any fun. But this week is looking better. With an rent paying interview with The Kooks tomorrow, a SINGLE PREMIERE for the awesome New Dawn Fades and at least some time to get to those unfinished reviews. We did manage to jot down some word about the new and amazing Tarlung. Did you hear it yet? And we had the amazing Ronny Dijksterhuis save the day with his words on the stunning glórach album 2026! It’s a new week once again. And I hope everyone will have an amazing one. And especially Mel Lie from Sunday’s Heavy Tunes. She’s taking a break from delivering all those wild listening suggestions. Mostly due to the new work adventure she is starting. So, we can still have hopes that once settled in, she might return. But either way, she will be missed. Every Sunday again, she delivered a great list of listening suggestions. Usually twenty singles, straight out of the Heavy Underground and of the highest quality. If it was listed on Sunday’s Heavy Tunes, it was a track you needed to hear by a band that was worth every bit of your time and energy. So, here’s a huge hats off and salute to Mel. May the world around you conspire to bring you all you need and may it be filled love, happiness and Heavy Tunes. Much love!

Mornin y’all! Monday is once again upon us! And we can glance back at some damn fine concerts during the weekend. A magnificent Anna von Hausswolff and three bands that tore The Jack in Eindhoven a new one. The moody and atmospheric Nevels opened the night, followed by a pristine Der Mancha Red and the debut stage experience for the aggro post metal mixture of Even If We Lose. And damn, how Der Mancha Red have grown, incredibly tight and a sound that reaches every fiber of your being. But as those tones slowly pass away now, we look forward to the FULL ALBUM PREMIERE by Mount Palatine we’ll do this Wednesday. And look back to thank Tony Maim for his Gluecifer write-up and Ronny Dijksterhuis for Iron Head and a massive Quick Fire Friday. And personally we jotted down some word on Barbears… Let’s hope to do some more this week! And check out those albums on the Top 10.
