Good morning! A new week is once again upon us, a week that will see the April Doom Charts go live. Did you manage to be a part of the Doom Charts Friday Freebie madness? Free codes were strewn like confetti last Friday. Hope you caught something. There were definitely some posts last week. Jon McGough came out swinging with a brilliant write-up about a brilliant album called Lifted From The Wind by Temple Fang. We wrote about Thammuz, Motorpsycho, Ghost, Tier, Void King and put up songs or videos by Museums, Lorquin’s Admiral, Sour Blood and Dozer. We were honored to bring you the FULL ALBUM PREMIERE for Void Kings’ The Hidden Hymnal: Chapter 2 and extremely grateful to receive a gift from the Grey Czar guys. Euarthropodia on Orange vinyl, and I have thing for Orange vinyl.. Marvelous! A week that in review looks busy enough. Well, let’s hope for a similar one this week. We’ll see, cause we still have some big stuff to finish up as well…

Another Monday morning coming down… It was high living with concerts in abundance and a first dance with the High Desert Queen. That’s right! The Texas four finally came to my hometown to level the Effenaar venue together with Gnome and Greenleaf. They opened the ball with an amazing set, shocked and awed the audience, still managed to feel like a warm embrace and left many floating off into the night later on. Si senor, it was a good night! And a good week all round, except for the part where Google decided to flag something they probably did themselves as suspicious behavior and locked my accounts. Hence, no chance to update the little old blog for 48 hours. This meant we only premiered that devious Slow Draw single, published that wild Uranus Space Club review by Ronny Dijksterhuis and put up the post about the March Doom Charts. I’m pretty sure we can do more this week! And get ready for Wednesday, when we have the honor to premiere the full Euarthropodia album by Austrian Grey Czar! What a release that is!

Another rock ‘n roll legend gone. And if there’s ever a dude about which you can say, he was one of the good guys; it’s Mr Hawkins. May he rest in peace. Life is funny; it usually is. But sometimes the joke is too cruel, the punchline too awkward or the pain much too real. So, before we get in trouble, we better start laughing about something and we better start listening to some heavy music! Cause there is always solace in that!

Only two albums have carried over from the February 2022 edition of the Doom Charts. Even though we’re all still spinning the shit out of KRYPTOGRAF, SLEEPWULF, FOSTERMOTHER and all those others. But the fact that there are so many new albums once again featured in the new March Doom Charts; is once again a testament to the immense amount of amazing records released every month. Cause the total amount of albums by bands that received votes this month reaches 261. Insane. 261 albums that according to the ones that voted for it deserved a spot on this month’s Doom Charts. No April Fool this time. Not the band or a joke, just a whole lot of heavy rock!

Personal votes went out to: Samavayo, Charley No Face, Red Eye, Mount Saturn, ZOM, Chivo and Mammoth Weed Wizard Bastard... And Tomorrow we start another rundown of the entire charts with Number 30: Children of The Sün!
