It's too much

On Friday, I published post number 5,750 on Night Owl Cards.   It's not a number as nice-and-round as others, but it prompted me to do something I haven't done for the previous milestone posts. Every time I reach a round-number total and write about it here, someone always comments that the total is actually larger because of the various set blogs I've run. So I decided this time, for the first time, to total them all up.   Including this post, it comes to 8,268 total when adding the 1971, 1975, 1985 Topps and 1993 Upper Deck blog totals. I've got some posts on "A Pack To Be Named Later" but I'm not sure how many and I don't have time to search them out and add them.   Which brings me to the point of this post. You've probably noticed I have slowly decreased the number of times I post in a week/month. That's been going on for awhile but has noticeable decreased since last summer. That is completely due the increased workload at my job, in whi...

Red-letter day

I've mentioned before that work has been even more of a time-suck than previously. It's infringing on blog posting and I don't think I can go to my bosses and say this is the reason why something's got to change, but something's got to change!   The first three days this week I worked more than the usual eight hours (plus a couple hours on Sunday) and I was prepared to do the same Thursday. I had a story interview arranged before I started my shift and I thought, "welp, I just added more hours that I won't get paid for!"   But it didn't turn out that way. Thanks to some general panicking about the weather, every single sports event in our area was canceled last night. So I ended leaving work at 10:45 p.m! That never happens. Usually I'm there until 12-12:30 and on busier nights (like tonight), I'll close up shop around 1:30 a.m.   So I got to leave work early. That's a red-letter day around here! (I don't have much). But I should...

Oops

I'm dealing with a firestorm at work that could only be created by the internet. So I don't have a lot of time. But I do want to mention that my want list tab has returned to the blog! It was just the other day that I discovered it was missing. It went something like this: "Well, cover me in shaving cream and douse me with bubble gum! What happened to the want list?" I don't remember if I took it down after the great want list erasing fiasco or know how long it had been gone. But it now has returned to its rightful spot. It's still woefully incomplete, but at least now I know why people were sending me emails that included the phrase "now that you don't have a want list ..." Geez, what kind of operation am I running here? Despite me actively discouraging people from checking out my want list, some still found it. One of them was John from Johnny's Trading Spot . He sent a bunch of shiny cards, many of which were on the want lis...
