While looking at this card a few days ago and noting how bizarre it was for the photographer to zoom in on Brian Giles' helmet ear hole, I wondered what I could write about it. Most of what I know about Giles can be summed up in the fact that he once played baseball in my town as a member of the Watertown Indians, that he enjoyed a terrific four years for the Pirates between 1999-2002 that went completely unnoticed, and that he was involved in a bizarre relationship with a former dancer that led to all kinds of ugliness .
