Your basic pack break/trade post

I suppose everyone is watching the game right now. I know that's what I'm doing. So there's no point in me going through the effort of trying to disguise my pack break or trade post with some sort of convoluted, semi-clever theme. For the few who don't want to watch the game, I'll treat you with a super basic pack break, followed by a super basic trade package. It's all I can manage, because right now I'm intently sending bad mojo vibes toward that guy wearing pajama pants on the mound. And that's a lot of work. First, the pack break. It's a pack sent to me by Jeremy of No One's Going to Read This Blog . He also sent some cards, which you'll see later someday. One pack of 2008 Topps Chrome, hobby edition: #58-Melky Cabrera: A guy I never hear about now that he is not a Yankee. Funny how that happens, huh? #102 - Kenji Johjima: Now that Johjima has left major league ball, I think we deserve a refund for all the Johjima cards w...

Awesome night card, pt. 92 and 93

Hi there. I haven't written a blog post since Monday, so I'm a bit out of practice. I took a few days off to do some vacationing in the Adirondacks. Let me tell you, that is one place that will not only cut down on your posting, but will cut down on your blog reading. The internet and sparsely-populated mountainous regions do not mix well. And, phew, what a relief, absolutely nothing happened in baseball the past few days. Heh. I guess I missed out on commenting on a few things. Well, even while spending breezy days in an area where the log cabins out-number the people, news got back to me. As for Steinbrenner, I guess you're supposed to be kind to those who recently passed. But I tend to treat glowing words uttered by men he made millionaires with a raised...

Who's going to the card show with me?

There's nothing like vehicle problems to suck the life out of a day off. What a time waster. Fortunately, there is a card show a few days away and I can focus on all the gloriousness that lies ahead. I've yet to get some lists together for the show, mostly because of the previously mentioned vehicle along with other mundane life issues. So, right now I have a hazy idea of what I will be looking for, but only one card that I know that I will buying for sure. It's the '75 Lopes you see here. Not too exciting. But I need it for the ol' Dodger binders, which are quickly taking over my collection. I hope to hammer down a specific shopping plan tomorrow. You may remember that I will not be shopping just for myself. In recognition of surpassing 100,000 hits, I also will shop for a lucky winner who entered last week's contest. Many thanks to the 60 folks who entered the contest. You are smart people. It's not every day someone volunteers to buy you cards tha...
