Night Owl Cards

I don't know why I bag on January so much. After all we did just get rid of college football last night. Also, January is the month when anticipation for the year's baseball cards is at its highest. How can I dislike a month when it signals the arrival of baseball cards? Why just today, Topps said this . Come on, man, despite what you think of Topps' modern baseball card ways, NEW BASEBALL CARDS ARE COMING! IN LESS THAN A MONTH! So what does one do to tide themselves over until then when they've been built into such an anticipation frenzy that they're running around the bedroom nonstop? Well, if you're lucky like me, you get Phungo Cards ever January! Another reason to like this month! I've received Phungo Cards from Phungo for at least the last five years. So, what's up with Topps 2014? Does anyone know when that's coming out? Does anyone care? Do I not know because I don't care? Has the date been released and I just wasn't paying attention? Does it even matter because I'll buy like 3 packs of the stuff? Is this some sort of night owl stunt where he does an entire post asking nothing but questions? OK, I'm done now. But my point is, I don't know when 2014 Topps is coming out, and I don't really care. Sure, the blogs will get me hyped when they start splashing it all over the internet in a couple of weeks, but I expect pack buying to be at the lowest level since the early 2000s this year. Fortunately, I have a pack of 2014 Phungo cards to open so I can rid myself of any urges to clear out an entire card aisle at 2 a.m. at the questionable Walmart outside the city! OK, I do care. But I don't care RIGHT NOW. This week you will be deluged with reports on 2013 Topps. There will be "golden ticket" alerts across the internet -- 2013 Topps has been spotted in a Target in Raleigh, N.C.!!!!!!! MOVE! MOVE! -- but I will be unfazed. I expect to be in a Target this Friday. I will check then. But even if new cards aren't around yet, it still won't bother me, because I have mah new cards already. I just got back from a card show! The January card show is an "every other year" proposition. There are no guarantees in this winter wonderland. But clear skies led me to more glorious cardboard and I couldn't be happier. The show this time coincided with the Outdoor Expo going on in the same part of the fairgrounds.
